Spiders! The big fat ones out on the porch catching bugs are okay as long as they are not bobbing above my head. The fast moving spiders are the worst. I saw this huge spider the other day on a sidewalk as I walked towards the door of a gas station. I don't know what kind it was, but it was the biggest I've seen around here so far. I stopped and yelled for my son. He got out of the car to see what my problem was. Mmmhmmm he found out very fast what mom was freaking out about. You could see hair (or what appeared to be hair) on this big thing. I swear if I would have went left or right around it...it would have lunged at me. Now... here's something for all you spider haters to think about. How many spiders are swallowed (or crawl down our throats) while we sleep with our mouths open?
I do not like my toes pulled on. You can touch them, but don't you dare tug on them. nonoicon

Yes, but since I'm sleeping, I can't see the spiders, therefore it's okay. :D

There used to be this spider living in my laundry room that I swear was as big as a boxer's head. Okay, maybe not really, but you get the point. :p I still have to stand at the doorway and stare at the walls for about 5 minutes before I get the courage to go in. We also have these awful spider-like creatures that look like the results of some awful scientific experiment. These things are like a cross between a cricket and a spider. They look like a spider, but they jump like crickets. They only live downstairs though. We had some company spray inside and outside but it didn't do anything except make my backyard really smelly.

My friend's husband is a fireman, and one time he was called out to some woman's house to kill a spider. Now even I wouldn't do that!

Maniago....you share the same phobia as my DH!! He absolutely detests earthworms!! We do NOT eat spaghetti on rainy days in this house! And, if it is raining outside, DH is more comfortable walking on the grass rather than the sidewalks or roads, as that is were you SEE the worms on wet days! When I was prgnant with my daughter, I had a craving for an order of fries and gravy...at 11pm...on a wet and stormy night! DH obliges, and off he goes to the nearest place that sells fries. When he gets back home, he is drenched, (I forgot to mention he had to walk), and pale and sickly looking! He tells me of the THOUSANDS of earthworms out there and how he had to leap from yard to yard, boulevard to boulevard in order to not step on any!:p :p :p :p I get the visual and break into hysterical laughter!! He was not impressed! But, I loved the fries, and he was a sweetie for going to get them!;) :)

I voted for something else.
I know this sounds crazy, but my biggest fear in the world is Cancer.
I have had basal cell cancer.
Also I have had to have a number of test in the past for possible cancers. I hate to even go to the doctor for anything, because it seems like even when I go for the simplist thing, they turn it into a cancer scare.
Since the time I turned 40, it seems that doctors think that everything is a possible sign of cancer!!
Let's see just a few.
Had a little tummy upset problem and it turned into...you need to have a Colonoscopy. At your age it could be...blah, blah, blah.
Is 40 an automatic death sentence??
I had a bladder infection awhile back....with a little blood in the urine. That got me a whole series of xrays of the bladder and kidneys! Plus a Cystoscoptic!!
Went to the Dentist awhile back for a tooth and the dentist said I had little white spot on my tongue (too many jolly rancher lollipops since I quit smoking, at least that is what I figured) but the doc had me brush the place like crazy for a couple weeks and come back to make sure it was going away, otherwise he said a biopsy was in order. Well, it went away luckily.
Oh yeah, there has been other incidents as well!!
Cancer scares me anyway...because I saw three of my hubby's family members suffer terribly with it before they died from it...he lost his father, an aunt and an uncle...all within a month of each other and all had different forms of cancer. :(

Mine would have to be spiders. I can tolerate any bugs and insects, but when it comes to spiders, I'm a big wimp!! I used to rearrange my bedroom a lot and I'd always have a can of hairspray or insect spray to drown the spiders if I spotted any hiding behind the furniture. They just totally gross me out!!

When I was younger, I used to go to streams and look for frogs and turtles and my aunts house out in the country we used to go out in their pasture to look for snakes. None of those things bother me. :) In fact, my uncle is afraid of snakes and if he saw one around, he'd call me to come remove it. He would do the same for me though when it came to spiders. :)

I don't care for bugs and snakes, but I'm not particularly afraid of them. My fear is speaking in front of people. I do fine at work with customers one on one. All I have to do is fix the equipment and the customer takes care of itself, but don't put me in front of a crowd.

When I was in the Air Force, I had a friend who was afraid of bugs. This guy could bench press almost 400lbs, but he would scream like Herman Munster(WOO WOO WOO WOO ) if someone threw a cricket on him. I felt sorry for him when someone picked on him, but it was a funny sight to see.

OMG! I HATE those things too! They are gross! I used to have them by the dozens in my basement! I have spent hundreds of dollars having new basement windows put in, my front porch fixed where it settled and cracked away from the house, and trying to find and fix every crack in the basement! I then *bombed* the basement with insecticide and found dozens of dead cricket bodies everywhere. I think they are called water crickets or mole crickets. Yuk!!

Then, spiders--when I was a kid--I was a Girl Scout, and we had to go camping every year. I hated it. I was in this platform tent and my cot was right under a spider web with a really HUGE spider right in the middle of it. Well, I couldn't sleep, of course, because I knew that spider would come down and get me. So, I spent the night with my flashlight shining on the spider. I'll bet he or she was cursing me--*turn off the %@@+ light!!!* I hated going to the latrine, too!! Lots of spiders in there! Ewwwww!

Cubby--I need more than dental floss tied to a flower to make me feel safe with heights! Maybe a heavy rope tied to an oak tree!:D

Wow, looks like the biggest fear is spiders. I will never forget an old co-worker at my last job. He was soooo afraid of spiders. It made matters worse when other co-workers decided to bring in fake spiders and lay them on his desk and computer terminal as a joke. I thought the poor guy was gonna have a heart attack. I did not think it was funny at all. Since most spiders don't bother me, little me would go over and destroy the real spiders that were near his desk.:p Now tarantulas I can't stomach at all, they totally gross me out, I can't believe some people have them as pets. YUCK!:o

Spiders for the most part do not bother me, if one is in my way, I pick it up by the leg and move it out of my way.
