Chris,

Maddie is only on 10mg twice a day for now. I'm not sure if it will eventually have to be increased or not. Did Austin pant a lot the whole four months he was on it or did his body finally adjust to it? We were up most of the night last night because she was panting so heavy/hard and she kept getting up and moving around. She NEEDS to be on this, this is the only thing that can somewhat help her levels. I'm worried that she won't be able to tolerate it and we will need to stop it, I really hope that is not the case because we will lose her even sooner.

Thinking of you and Maddie. Sending positive thoughts and healthy vibes. I hope the internist is able to help guide you through the decision making. Maddie is lucky to have such a loving and caring mom.

After Maddie is on it for a while her body will adjust and the side effects aren't as bad. Aus stared on 40mgs a day but had to be cut down because he was peeing in the house. Maddie will be probably be drinking a lot and be extra hungry. Aussie was. That won't change as long as she's on it. He was sensitive to it, so he had to be on 10mgs. It gives them a sensation that they are hot when really they aren't so that brings on the panting.

Thanks for the update, Carrie. I have thought of you and Maddie every day, sending loads of healing and feel good vibes nonstop. I hope input from the surgeon and internist will clear a way for Maddie - I know how you must be agonizing over what direction to move in. Know that we are all rooting for your baby girl - as auntthelm said, she is very lucky to have such a loving and caring mom. Sending out more healing and hopeful vibes, and more hugs. Hang in there, Sweet Maddie Girl.

I couldn't stop crying while listening to your story. I know how you are feeling because we went through the same things recently with our sweet Brutus. He was diagnosed with HEMANGIOSARCOMA after having an emergency surgery to have his spleen removed. He was only with us for two weeks after the surgery and I have second guessed all of my decisions concerning his care.

I know you are making all the right decisions for your baby girl because I can tell how much you love her. She is a very lucky girl to have you. I will be praying for you and Maddie.
