How and Why did you decide on your boxers name?

I wanted a great, unique, feminine name for Kaia, and thought and thought about it. My boyfriend was a Marine and stationed in Hawaii for years, and he said he wanted a Hawaiian name. I fell in love with the name Kaia the moment I found it. It means "Sea", and although we live on the Gulf, I thought it was close enough!

When I got my female boxer we couldnt come up with a name and so I called my stepdaughter and she suggested "Ashley" and we were so thankful it wasnt jasmine ( she was in a jasmine name kick for some time, everything ended up being named jasmine) we used it.
Noah got his name because I was pregnant at the time we got him, and the theme of her baby room was "Noahs Ark", so noah stuck, his middle name is Zachery, after a boxer I rescued from the pound, and we lost after he got out of the fence of our new house, and were never able to find. We still miss him..Noah wasnt his replacement, just helped us get thru it..

I had Jada's name picked out before I even bought her. I was doing research on dog names and found it and it just stuck. With Tanner it took days to figure out his name, my husband and I couldn't agree on anything. Then one day I suggested Tanner because he was one of the lightest fawn(Tan) color of his litter.

My wife and I are huge Kentucky Basketball fans and she allowed to name our 2 boxers after two of my favorite players Kyle Macy and Jeff Brassow. Hence their names Macy and Brassow. I get alot of compliments about the name Brassow, alot of people like it.

Growing up we always had boxers. My parents showed them. We had a male boxer named Atlas that was the greatest boxer you could ever want. I named my Atlas after him. I always liked the name Sydney. When we got Abby my mom named her. There is a story behind Abby. One day this boy came to our door with a boxer and asked us if we would like to buy him for $250.00 dollars. My mom wanted him so bad so we bought him for her. Come to find out he was stolen. This boy had stolen him out of someones back yard. The boys father came to our house and told us he had found out about this through one of his sons friends. We found out who the people were and contacted them. They came right away to get their boy back. They were all crying, so happy to see him. They tried to give us a reward and we refused. We felt so bad about the whole situation. My mom was in tears. She wanted that boxer so bad. The next day we found a breeder in Brazil,In that had a litter of boxers and that is how Abby came into our lives. My mom died 7 yrs after we got Abby so when we lost Abby it was like losing my mom all over again. Sorry so long.

My son is not a actual boxing fan, but he always loved the Rocky movies. Needless to say, he wanted to name our first boxer Rocky. I told him that I wanted something more unique. I figured there were probably hundreds of dogs of all breeds named Rocky. So we went thru other "Rocky" movie names like Apollo, Creed and several others that I can't even remember (not a big "Rocky" fan myself). His answer to those was no because they were "bad guys". When I suggested Balboa, the debate was over. Son was competely satisfied and so was I. I kinda think Balboa likes it,too.

Bucyrus, Kansas

Cyrus is named after a small town in Kansas. We used to see the sign for the Bucyrus exit, and my DH would always say "that would be a cool name for a dog"!! When we brought our baby boy home, there was no question what his name would be! It fits him, and we get lots of compliments on it.

Vega is named after Vincent Vega, Travolta's character in Pulp Fiction (sorry not the star). The plan then was to name our second one Chili after Chili Palmer, another JT character. After deciding not to get a male, however, we agreed upon Islay after the island in Scotland where some of the best whisky is the world is made.

Diesel was originally Buster when we got him. It just didn't seem to fit him so we came up with Diesel cause he's built like a big ol' truck!

My family was on vacation when we found out we were actually getting our baby(DH kept saying we didn't need another dog! imagine that!). While sitting in our car my daughter and I were looking at the pictures that the breeder had sent to my cell. After a bit my daughter asked what her name should be....at the same time we said DAIZY! That has to be a sign!!
