How and Why did you decide on your boxers name?

Our brand new baby girl is named after my great great great grandma. I have been tracing my family tree and found out her name was 'Drusilla' which is of Greek origin meaning dewy eyed and strong. Not sure if she going to end up with Drus or Silla we will have to wait and see what she responds to.

My husband was named after the family dog so he decided we should name our first boxer after his dad, "Earl". Our second boxer was a rescue dog. The previous owner, who was about 20 years old, named him "Pat", short for Patron. "Pat" didn't seem to fit his personality and he didn't respond that well to it so we decided to rename him "Chuck'. The names definitely fit both their personalities.

It took us about 3 weeks to come up with Tyson. We threw around quite a few names, Bailey (bf said he wasn't naming him after beetle bailey, I said no, bailey's irish cream!!), Baxter, Buster, and a name I can't even spell because it was a noise he made when he came home. Sort of baby growling and sounded chinese. Finally ended up with Tyson for, you guessed it, Mike Tyson. We have come to find that our Tyson also likes to nibble ears :) His registered name is going to be (sorry if spelled wrong) Cassus Marcellus Clay. Some people think he is named after Tyson chicken.???

Stryker, when we saw him we found his markings to be very striking. I said OH he's striking, from that we came up with Stryker.
Chelsea, I wanted something that reminded us of the ocean, we were thinking of other names for the ocean and my DH said, "the ocean, the Sea, Chelsea" that's how she got her name.

Duke came with the name when we got him as a surrender at the Humane Society. It fits him perfectly though--with the cropped ears he looks like a mini-Marmaduke.

Duke had his name before we even laid eyes on him. My BF is a huge Duke Blue Devil fan and I liked the name too; It just sounds like a "boxer name", very strong and muscular. IF we get a girl her name will be either Millian or Duchess.

Boxer Buddy
We came up with Lennox after Lennox Lewis (the boxer). I wanted to stick with a boxer's name. We wanted to use Cash, but bf's buddy used it for his Pit Bull. I like Lennox, I haven't seen any others on here YET.

Named my Boxer Kayo

I got it from the boxing term Knock Out or K.O.

Originally it was my plan to get a boxer and name it Teko which was from the boxing term Technical Knock Out (T.K.O.) but one day a few years ago (before I got my boxer) I was in a dog rescue and fell in love with another dog which I gave that name to.
