Who cares what you look like when your having fun

I own a riding stable and each and everyday the isle needs to be blown clean. I don't sweep because it takes too much time! A regular electric leaf blower is all it takes. My boxer Penny comes running from what ever direction to help. Her thing is to direct her mouth right over the air, fill up the loose jowl with air and shake her head back & forth. All the while jumping around and making noise. It's a hoot to watch. I'm never in that much of a rush that i don't enjoy watching this everyday. She'll even do it behind the vacumme cleaner.

Whenever I go out to fill their water dish or even their pool in the summer I spray the water out of the hose. Roscoe loves to bite the water coming out. I have so much fun watching it, and playing with them. I am just as dirty and all wet as they are.:D

Okay, I have been reading Boxerworld since I got my dog a year ago and I STILL don't know what kidney beaning is. Can someone enlighten me?

Kidney Beaning refers to the little dance that our furbabies do for us when they get excited. They wiggle back and forth, making themselves bend almost in half, hence the appearance of a kidney bean. :)

Kidney beaning is cute, it is where they fold almost in half when they get excited. Mine move their little tails fast and then their bodies fold almost in half. looks like the head and tail are going to meet and mine actually do. Boxers seem to be the only ones that do this. I have seen other dogs excited but boxers seem to be the only ones to kidney bean. I hope this helps you.

Harley has got to be the best thing to come home to. I look forward to her greeting me after work or after we've been out for a few hours. Her little butt wiggles so hilariously!!! She jumps so high I could catch her without bending over at all. For some reason my husband lets her sleep 'til I get home at 1am and she is so full of energy. We get her goin' and she blasts through the house like she has all the room in the world!! The kids are sound asleep and we get her howling through the house with her woo woo song. We just have a ball with her. At night she's mama's girl wherever I sleep she is right there. I remember when she was 6wks old when we got her and she did the kidney bean then too. She'd wiggle so fast it didn't look like she could stay standing. She loves to throw her treats around before she eats them. Also, when it's time for the kids to come home from school she is at the window just waiting. I say "Where are your kids Harley!!" and she just goes crazy at the door. I could keep going and going but I will stop for now!:)

Boxer Characteristics

Boxers are truely the greatest of all dogs. I have had many different breeds in my lifetime (42 years) and this dog is definitely the best match for me!! We have a seven year old fawn male who we just found out has cancer. What I love the most about him is hard to pick. He has ALL the typical traits: he "woo-woo's" us mostly when we come home after being out, lays flat on his back without a care in the world, and runs holy terror around the yard when he gets in that "possessed" mood. I can't finish without mentioning how smart and intelligent his is. So easy to train! His name is Chewbacca and we mostly call him "Chewy". We can say his name much faster that way. Something that was very often necessary to say when he was younger.;)

My Gracie (red flashy fawn) is just 4 and my George (white and deaf) is 10 months old. Both of them exhibit ALL the aforementioned Boxer Traits. George is especially notable when he woo woos because, being deaf, he woo woos very loud (to feel the vibrations in his throat so he knows he's making noise) and it is very high pitched. He likes to do this when Gracie won't pay attention to him or if she has a toy he wants. This usually occurs around 6 in the morning. Thank God the house is well insulated or the neighbors would complain. My boxers also have a "sweet spot" on their sides. When you rub or scratch either one of them on their "sweet spot" a back leg starts kicking like wild! About the GAS problem; I changed my dogs from a grocery store food to a premium food (like Science Diet, but what I get is called Paul's Pet Food; it's not only cheaper than Science Diet, but it gets delivered to the house! It has NO BY-PRODUCTS AND NO FILLERS). Cleared the gas up real fast! Occasionally one or the other will pass an SBD, but neither one will claim responsibility (unlike male children who are PROUD of their bodily noises and/or smells). Gracie likes to lie on her back and extend one of her front legs straight up, letting the paw flop down like a debutante extending her hand to be kissed (probably why her "full" name is Princess Gracie the Spoiled). Gracie is a bit more reserved that George who, at 10 months and over 70lbs, fully believes he is still a lap puppy and takes a flying run at me with his back legs leading when he hits. Gracie can be very jealous. When my son Matt had a girlfriend over, Gracie would squirm in between them and turn all of her attention to the girl so the girl would have to pay attention to Gracie instead of to Matt. She was a GREAT chaperone! Gracie gets a little jealous if she thinks George is getting too many loveys and will bring a toy or a chew bone over and drop it where George can get it. When he goes for it, she grabs it and starts to trot away, looking back over her shoulder so George will follow her and leave me. Both dogs are champion kidney-beaners. I used to think Gracie was trying so hard to wag her little nub of a tail that it just whipped the rest of her body around. Another trait of boxers (mine and every other boxer I've ever met) is that they truly believe EVERYONE wants to love them and they will pose to attract attention and loveys. When Gracie was real little, if we went for a walk and passed someone who didn't pay attention to her, she would stop in her tracks and look back at that person like "what kind of a moron are you? Don't you see how beautiful I am? Why didn't you adore me?" Neither one of my dogs understand yappy little dogs who always want to start a fight that my dogs could end by just putting a paw on them and holding them down. My dogs never want to fight they always want to play. Gracie loves to swim but can't abide cold and wet (rain). If forced to go outside in the rain to do her duty, she attempts to tiptoe which is hysterical.

I was wondering if anyone knows what it means when they lean or push against you? Is it a dominance thing or what? Also I wanted to mention another trait that my sweet Belle has. After I fill her bowl with dogfood she will come over and touch my hand with that wonderful nose everytime as if to say "Thank you!" I love Boxers!!!!!!
