Boxer Traits

Hailey is 4 months old and she likes to sleep on her back. She always has to have something to rest her head on when she sleeps. She has very bad gas. She loves to cuddle and sleep in bed with us. She is very smart and already knows several tricks. She loves ALL people and dogs. Haily and our kitten Tink get along very well together and play all of the time.

I am now beginning to realize that apollo is a jumper. We were in the back yard today playing with a floppy frisbee and he was jumping so high, his whole body was even with my face. He was like a little jumping bean. It was the funniest thing.

And he also does the boxer burn around my house now, only he comes from behind the couch and jumps over it.

Boudreaux

Boxer Pal
BooBoo never licks me but has no problems licking other people: I guess he knows I'm the Alpha dog. It is such a joy to hear him do his woo-woo-woo because my other dog is a beagle and his baying is so loud. Another thing that he does is sigh. It is really kind of unique because I have had dogs all of my life and I have never heard a dog make such a big effort to sigh. One more thing I love is when he gets drippy lips from drinking water and then shakes his head and gives my walls a "juice shower". A trait that I cannot break him from doing is when he does "tugboat" which is basically sometimes pulling me when he goes for his daily walks. I love my Boudreaux.

Dutch has all of the same boxer traits...sighing, burping, tooting, woo-wooing, snoring...but a couple of my favorites are when we go to sleep, he likes to rest his head across my neck. It is almost like he is giving me a hug but ends up falling asleep like that! He also woof woofs in his sleep some times while his little paws are twitching! It cracks me up everytime and I can't help but laugh! He sticks his snoot in the snow and comes up with a white face, and looks at me as to say "What!?!"...but the funniest is when he happens to pass the heater vents in the floor and he gets a little gust...he doesn't know what the heck is going on...he thinks something is attacking him and he has is bum way up in the air barkin' away! Things Dutch does that mommy doesn't like: eating my hair, chasing the cat, eating the christmas tree, paws in the face at 2am...familiar anyone?

Lawn Chairs?

Ozric's got just about all of the usual traits mentioned - he like to eat my hair also and does the quasi-barking in the sleep.

I've seen a few pics of other peoples boxers sitting in their lawn chairs or patio furntiture - my other two dogs have never done this, but my boxer is always sitting on my patio furniture. Luckily he seems to have quit getting onto the table and now just curls up in the chairs. Its pretty funny - especially now that he's 63 pounds and can barely fit.

Lying on their backs

I have a 3 year old Boxer mix, who spends a lot of time laying on her back with her paws sprawled out. I think she does it mostly for attention. She wiggles around and make funny noises (ewok noises) and we call it "crazy dog". She does it on command now, so I'm sure she does it for attention. It is quite entertaining. I can't imagine how fun two "crazy dogs" would be!

My 3 year old male does pretty much everything that I have seen in the previous posts. I think the thing I find the craziest is his throwing of toys. I've had things hit me in the head when I'm sleeping, broken knickknacks around the house and an almost broke window. He just gets so wound up when he plays.

Hobbes

Hobbes is our first boxer and he does some funny stuff. Ive never seen him chase a fly but am curious if he would. He is definately a very LOUD snorer. He drools and slobbers all over the place when he drinks but the funniest thing that ive seen him do is chase his own farts. Hes quite the loud farter and sometimes when he lets one rip hell chase his rear in circles. Its hilarious!

Boudreaux

Boxer Pal
One thing that I discovered with Boudreaux is that when he gets really excited and wants to play, he begins to chatter his teeth. I'll usually play tug-o-war with him with a knotted towel and when the towel is pulled away he is in his play stance and he begins to rapidly click his teeth together in anticipation. It is so funny to watch him stare at the towel with his big eyes and ready to get down and play.

He also does what I call refried kidney beans; doing a kidney bean but with the front of his body on the ground and his butt in the air. It is so hilarious to watch this dog.

Long live boxers!!
