We name our dogs after boxers.
Andy was named after Andy Kaufmann (yes, he's a wrestler - but Andy wrestles so that's cool)
Sonny was named after Sonny Liston
Our next male will be named Foreman
Our next female will be named Ali

I am a big Cubs fan so when my wife was reading down the list of possible dog names and said Wrigley I just knew that was it. So Wrigley is his name and Wrigley Field is his name when he's in trouble.

This is such a wonderful thread!! I had a Max that my son had bought for me he was the love of my life. He needed a playmate so along came Jazzy I had said for years my first female boxer will be Jazzy and boy did it fit. Then I along with the police in my home town rescued a male boxer and I named him Jagger (I had heard it on the Animal Planet) Well in Jan. of 2005 Max had to be put to sleep I was totally devastated. Then 3 days later Jagger went into liver faliure due to his starvation. I lost it my husband thought he was going to have to have me put in a hospitol. He told me we would get another male. I said when I was ready I would get another one and name him Jax after Max and Jagger (we called him Jag for short) but it would not be soon I could not go thru this again. Jazzy never left my side. Then I got a call from a couple of towns over A 2 yr. old flashy fawn male going to be put down if they could not find a home for him no other reason just tired of him. So we went right then. His name was Bo. We added Jax and now have Bojax, Jazzy and another rescue 5 Month old Maggie (my daughter named her) Never have I heard the name Bojax before!!!

I have a beautiful boxer boy named Sugarray too!!!!!!! I love boxing and Sugar Ray Leonard was my favorite so I named him that. I dont split it-one name Sugarray. My beautiful female was Apryl Felicia-I lost her in May to lymphoma. Sugar is my first rescue and first male-and I wanted a new start for him and that included changing his name. He responded to Sugarray from the first day we brought him home.
