Why'd you name your boxer that?

Lily got her name because way before i got her i worked at boarding kennels. There was a regular boxer that came in called Lilly who was my favourite. She was a pretty brindle who every time i walked past she would put her piggy in her mouth, kidney bean and woowoo at me. I couldnt resist (and i think she knew  ) because every time she would do it id come over cooing and making a fuss at how cute she was  . I dont work there anymore and i miss her, but she was the one who make me start to look at boxers, come on boxerworld, fall in love with the breed and finally rescue my Lily girl :D Fitting tribute i think :)

We took ages choosing Hermione's name. We chewed around with so many different names and themes and none of them seemed to suit. Then just when we were going to give up for the night my partner said I think she looks like Hermione so I looked and thougt yep she does!

Oscar Baxter Taz Preston

Hello Folks
I know Oscar has a long name but I just kept adding. When I first got him I wanted to name him Baxter, I just liked that name. But it just didn't suit him, Oscar suited him perfectly he had the worst breath because of the food the breeder was feeding him, he whines all the time, and he gets lippy quite a bit. Just like Oscar the grouch. But I was attached to Baxter so I made it his middle name. Then he does this zig-zag running around like the tazmanian devil cartoon so that suited him well also, so then I added on Taz as another middle name. And then Preston because that is my last name, my vet calls me in to the exam room, "Oscar Preston, is there a Oscar Preston waiting.". He know his name so he gets so excited.

We named our boxer Mugsy Ferocious. My husband picked the name and while he would like Mugsy to be as ferocious as he can look sometimes, he is absolutely the happiest and sweetest boxer on earth. "Oh, you've come to rob the house, Mr. Thief, OK, as long as you play with me!"

We named our female boxer Eli even though she is a girl because my husband had a childhood friend whose name was Eli (short for Elizabeth). She was tough and a Tom boy and we thought that fit Eli (although Eli is a bit more sensitive and emotional than we first thought she would be).

Fred (who we are picking up in a couple of weeks) was named that way because after my husband and I picked him out we were getting ready to discuss names. I asked what he thought of and he said Fred. That was exactly what I was thinking!!! The breeder likes to call him Fredrick now. It fits!

I named my girl Isis after the Egyptian goddess of motherhood and fertility. I wanted a beautiful, regal and somewhat uncommon name for my princess.

Other, more funny names I have given pets over the years:
Dogs:
Brandy - he was a licker (liquor!)
Bob Barker - you guessed it, he never stopped barking
Cat:
Aristocat
Hamsters:
Abrahamster
Hamburger

That is what I named my fancy, American Blue, dumbo eared rat and for the same reason. Plus, since she's "blue" she's looks like ice.

Deacon Balboa Marshmallow H-D Meathead

Although we only had Deacon for 5 days, he had acquired quite a long name: Deacon Balboa Marshmallow H-D aka Meathead. Deacon-just liked the name. Balboa-from the Rocky movies. Marshmallow-3 year old added that. H-D-he was so sick so we told him he could be like our Harley, it breaks down sometimes but with a little work, it's running loud and strong again. Meathead-he had the biggest head we've ever seen on a boxer with the smushiest face(I must have kissed his head and face 800 times in those 5 days). As a side note, I read that a many named baby is a much loved baby-I think that certainly applies to our fur babies, too!!
