Why'd you name your boxer that?

Coco'smommy

Boxer Insane
Coco got her name because of her color, she was sooo dark when she was little that she was nearly all dark chocolate colored, her fawn is showing through as she grows. Her technical name is Lady Coco Wright. I needed three names for her papers. I know, not very creative but we wanted something to reflect her color and that was best we could come up with. If I had known before we got her that BW existed, I would have definitely asked all you fine people for suggestions cause I know I would have gotten some great ones! In any case her color = her name. Her dam is Matilda Markee and her sire is Sir Mason. No idea where their names came from.

IluvLucy

Boxer Insane
J.C. had his name when we adopted him. He originally came from another state where he was taken from his previous owners for neglect. The lady that runs the rescue that we got him from took to calling him J.C. because he came from a town called Junction City. I asked if he responed to it and she said yes. I decided to keep it, partly because I didn't want him to have to learn a new name and partly because I thought it was pretty cool. It also acts as a reminder of what his life was like before and that he will NEVER be treated like that again.

Remey

Our first boxer baby we named Remedy...Remey for short. We did it because she was the remedy that fixed our broken hearts after our beloved shepherd, Natasha died. After we got hooked on boxers, we adopted a second and named him Gus because our five year old daughter, Eden, refused to call him by his original name, Lagger. She said that we could call him whatever we wanted to call him but "his name is Gus". I tend to go with the "children and animals know" philosophy. Soooo, Gus it is.

RVsBoxer

Super Boxer
Wilson is named after the cute, funny Boxer in the movie "Good Boy" (anyone who hasn't seen that movie should!). It was perfect because I really wanted to be able to call him "Willie" for short lol. I thought it'd be funny. grin2icon I actually don't really call him that much hehe, unless I'm calling him Willie-Poo. I mostly do call him Wilson, or Wills :p

That's how my Patsy got her name. I wanted Isabella, in memory of my first Boxer, Belle, but my granddaughter said, "no, her name is Patsy" , and so it is.

Penda

Boxer Pal
My dad is from Nairobi, Kenya...and I bought Penda for him as a birthday present, so "Nakupenda" in Swahili...(language of kenya), means I love you, and "Penda" means Love...so thats where i picekd it!!! I love some of the names you all picked...so original!!!

Dookie

Boxer Buddy
My son had named his 1st boxer dookie, he was very traumatized when he died at 1&1/2. I waited 5 years to get him another one, and of corse he named him Dookie too. There is a very good reason why the name fit's so well but we wont go there! hahaha.

owen's mum

Boxer Booster
Owen was rescued in April from West Palm Beach Animal Control in Florida. During the hour long ride home, I asked my BF for some good Celtic names as he is rather into his heritage. He gave me several, but they were to tough. Owen sounded a little more mellow. I thought it fit him well as he was only one year old, and didn't even jump or bark when we met him at the shelter and his fawn is rather red as well.

I love my momma's boy!

Gruntsmom

Boxer Insane
My husband named Grunt, Warriors' Pride, in honor of all the grunts he served with during his career in the Army. We call him Grunt, for short, and I also call him BB Boy, Boxer Boy, Bingy, Swinger (for those swinging hips when he struts), and many more "silly" names. Our breeder didn't think the name was noble enough, and also didn't think AKC would accept it. But, they did, no problem!! :) We feel it IS a very noble name.

Dorian

Boxer Buddy
Dorian got his name from the movie League of Extaordinary Gentelmen, my husband and I went to the theaters to see it and I just fell in love with the name and thought it would be a great name for him. The rest of his name (Dorian The Gray) we got from The lord of the Rings, because we are both big fantasy nuts. :D
