Why'd you name your boxer that?

Zander is actually "Alec Zander the Great". and of course Alexander means defender of mankind in greek. He was the largest and i thought it fit him because he would defend the chair he sat on in the back yard so well! His father's name is Gunner of War and i thought id just go with the powerful defender type of theme.

My 10 week old brindle is named "CASH". From the time we put down the deposit on him at 6 weeks until the time he was ready to go home at 8 weeks, we struggled on a name - we were trying to decide between "Clay" and "Beltran". One day my wife asked me in what form I would be paying off the puppy as I had payed the deposit in the form of a personal check. I replied to her, "I'm gonna pay in cash money"...hence the name "CASH". His full name is...get this, "Peydon Cash Money"

We picked Busa

We were trying to come up with a unique sounding name that not everyone would have, we ended up with Busa. Short for Hyabusa (the motorcycle). We like it, it's a nice short name and fits him, he fast...fast... just like the real thing!

We named our brindle "Koa", which is the name of a Hawaiian wood that actually looks brindle -- it's a swirl of different shades of brown. Right after we adopted and named her, we went to Hawaii to get married and saw 3 different dogs there named Koa...and we thought we were being original...

Me and my boyfriend went out walking one day when we just have started going out and met this beautiful boxer puppy named Buster. That day we decided that we should have our own little Buster and now 1 year later, we finally have him......

Our first boxer was named Belle, my daughter named her after the Beauty and the Beast Belle. Duke was a rescue his original name was Zeke, which we changed so he could start over. Plus we always said to him to 'put up your dukes' .This may sound weird but we let Duke pick out Chloe's name. None of us could decide so we read them off to Duke .He ignored all of them except when we read out'Chloe' he turned and cocked his head at us.That was that....

My 15 week old is named "George" after George Foreman. I thought an actual boxer's name was most fitting, and I was going to name him Casius, but George seemed like a name that would be less choosen. I also call him "Chewy" as a nick name because he doesn't really bark...he kind of half whines, half barks, and he sounds like Chewbacca in Star Wars.

Tonka, Barbie and Sodo Mojo

Okay Tonka was already named when we bought him but it trully is the perfect name for him...he is built like a Tonka truck, tipping the scales at 95 pounds and not in the least bit fat.
Barbie (Boxella's Ebony Belle) well she is just a Barbie girl, 100% pretty girl.
Sodo Mojo...well let's just say I love my Seattle Mariners just a tad too much! That's what we call a fan! Mojo also was our little league team mascot and went to EVERY game from the time she was 8 weeks on...

I decided on naming mine Major, largely in part because his father's name is Trooper. Other part because (guess who's in charge of the household) - yep you guessed it!!!!

All of you boxer names are so beautiful, they were all named for a special reason! I am a big Loard of the Rings fan and in the movie the Elvish word for friend in Bella, so I had to name her Bella because I knew she would be my best friend! My husband gave her the middle name Bynx.
