Why you named your Boxers what you did?

Boxer Pal
Fondue

I named my all white baby with one brown ear Fondue. She literally looks like her ear has been dipped in a light chocolate. I figured it would be better to call, "Here Fondue" versus "Here Dip" :)

I just looked up Asia's name and it says it is of the Greek origin and means 'East' :o

We didn't name her until we went to pick her up (we didn't know any names)! So, on the way to Mark's parents house we were just spitting out names and looking at her and when Mark said 'Asia' it just clicked! She's a really pretty pup and I think Asia is a really pretty name ... so now, she is a year old Asia! :D

I named my Boxer Delilah after a Grateful Dead song Samson & Delilah (actually a cover/rearrangement of an old folk song). Being a long time Deadhead, Delilah has a Dancing Bear collar and leash!!!!

Because he looks like ...

Butch was named because it just seemed to fit him. He showed up in the yard one day, very underweight, and his scrawny body covered with cig burns. We dibbed him "Butch," or "Butchie" and he took to it right away. Proud to report that several years later, he's happy, healthy - and couldn't ask for a more loyal animal.

REAGAN'S MOM

Boxer Pal
Reagan's name

When trying to decide what to name our dog, my husband and I couldn't agree on a name. I wanted something cute like Daisy or Molly, but he refused to have a name that was too girly. I have a friend who named their daughter Reagan, so I mentioned that name and my husband immediately said, "That's it!" He's already decided that our next dog (whatever/whenever that is) will be named Nixon. Can you figure out his political affiliation?? By the way, it was also interesting that about 2 months after we got Reagan, our former President passed away. A great memorial to his name, if we do say so ourselves!

We named our girl Saffron after Saffron Walden, the town in England my husband grew up in. We call her Saffy for short and it really suits her. We get asked often if she was named after the daughter in that British TV show Absolutely Fabulous.

Super Boxer
Hugo is named after a Hurricane and a hockey player. As a kid, we always vacationed in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area; all got hit hard in '89 by Hurrican Hugo. I always thought that was such a good name for a hurricane, a strong tough guy name for a strong storm.

My hubby said there was also a hockey player at OSU named Hugo, so we christened our little Boxer baby 'Hurricane Hat-trick Hugo'. I can't imagine any other name for him, he just looks like a Hugo!

Boxer Pal
Bodhi & Tyson

His full name is Bodhisattva Kozan, which means Enlightened One (Bodhisattva) and Tiger Mountain (Kozan). He's brindle, hence the tiger part. Just love the name Bodhi (tree, or Patrick Swayze's character in Point Break)!

Tyson, our first (boxer/dobie mix) was named after, yes, Mike Tyson the boxer. It was appropriate at the time - 1990. Before he became disturbed!!

Because I wanted a Jeep! (No boxer but feeling left out;) )

Well, I don't have a boxer yet - but I did buy a Congo African Grey Parrot and named him CJ. I wanted a Jeep Wrangler, but got him instead and Wrangler didn't fit a pile of feathers. So I named my bird CJ after a Wrangler model ;)

What an adorable name (Fondue) I love it. I've not heard it as an animal name before and I just love unique names...Fondue is so much better then Dip although that's very cute as well...
