OMG Aimee I just sat down at my computer this morning with the intention of sending you a pm to check on Baxter! I must admit when you hadn't posted in a while I got nervous that something happened. I am absolutely THRILLED to hear he is doing so well!! What a great Christmas present and New Year's for you guys. I pray for continued strength for you, Jason and Baxter. Please give the big guy a hug from me and Aus.

My baby girl is in trouble

I stumbled upon this site when looking for information on boxers with brain tumors. I have 3 beautiful boxers, 1 brindle, 1 white & 1 fawn. About a week ago we noticed that our brindle female was not acting right. She seemes a little confused. We took her to the vet and they did chest xrays and senior blood work (she is 9 yrs old) and all came back negative. They thought that maybe she was showing signs of aging or maybe calcium build up on her eyes causing blurred vision/confusion. But that all turned for the worse on Saturday night. My husband and I were watching TV when we heard a bunch of noise from the other room, it was our little Pandora having a full violent siezure. My husband held her so she would not hurt herself, it was a little over a minute, but felt like an hour. I called the emergency vet and told them we were on our way. She could not stand up, her eye was still fixed outward and could not close her jaw. I thought we were loosing her. We took her to the clinic and they did a few neurological tests on her and believes she has a brain tumor. We had to leave her there on 24 hour seizure watch. On sunday she had another seizure and they continued to give her valium and phenobarbital. We picked her up this morning and took her to our primary vet. While in the waiting room she began to seizure again. They took her back and gave her more meds. They reffered us to a neurologist at South Paws Animal Clinic in Springfiled VA. The neurologist also believes it to be a brain tumor, she is scheduled to have an MRI in the morning to confirm and to see if anything can be done. I had read Aimees posts from the begining, and was a bit worried that no posts have been done in a while. I would like to find out how Baxter is, and if he had the seizures and the circling, and the falling down.
I want to be strong for her and do everything we can, but I dont want to keep her going for selfish reasons, I want to make sure she is comfortable.
If anyone elsehas info or experience with a brain tumor, let me know.
Thanks for listening - it feels good just to get it out and share.
Angel
