Completely Boxer Crazy
Aimee,
It is with the heaviest heart that I read and catch up with the post.
I am so terribly sorry to hear of this time of distress.

You truely are doing everything that can be done. Most would have given up hope by now. He is in the best hands.

I'll continue to keep Baxter in our hearts and share in your worries.

Thank you both! It was so tough to watch him go through all of this, I'm glad to have a ray of hope. Mr. B has had his dinner and is now resting comfortably.

I'm staying home from work again tomorrow with Bax. If possible, maybe everyone could also sneak a small prayer in for me that I don't get fired from my job

I'm still worried about the havoc the pred is wreaking on his body but I believe now that this is something we are going to have to deal with. The vet gently reminded us that we are battling something we cannot cure and that at this stage in the game, his comfort matters most. He said we needed to stop treating his lab work and just worry about managing him. Since he appeared fine on his pred previously, we should simply leave him on it.

Aimee,
You couldn't have said it better.
I have been staying away from replying lately as I couldn't quite find the words to say what you did without making it sound like I was telling you to give up.
As you know this hits very close to home for me and at this time of year also.
IMO I think you are making the right choice.
I didn't leave the house the whole time Duke was like this because I kept thinking that he would hurt himself worse if someone wasn't with him. Lucky I didn't have a job, I know i would have been fired. I'm glad to hear he seems more comfortable, it sound like the pred kicked in.
Please call me, if you need to talk, I know I'll be homebound all week.
lovicon Hang in there Big B...we all love you!!!

You all are still in my thoughts and prayers! I know how difficult it is to see your baby going through all this! It's heartbreaking, but I know you will stay strong for him. You are doing everything you possibly can for him!
