With regards to Claudia's agression issues....I think we need to change the humans that started with those rescued dogs! It is sad. I rescued a dog agressive female and I felt so helpless, but I feel certain it came about by how she was treated by her owners.
If only that was the case!
Boxers CAN BE a notioriously scrappy breed, REGARDLESS of how they have been raised!
Have you not been reading the many posts here from devoted owners who are now dealing with aggression issues?
One cannot generalise about temperament, because many people spend unlimited hours training and scocialising their dogs to find the outcome unfavourable.
So many factors affect temperament and we should remember that.
Some are big old pussy cats and some are fiesty terrors!
Yes any dog can be made aggressive by bad human management but in many breeds this is a latent part of their personality.
The boxer was bred to be a staunch and powerful opponent.
To this day you will encounter this attitude in many, and of those that are sublime and laid back, not all have been owned by wonderful people.
I myself rescued a dog from a hideous situation and he didnt have a mean bone in his body.
Yet my own bitch Rose, who has been bred from excellent lines, has been extensively trained, socialised and who knows dam well fighting is an absolute NO NO , will get into a dog scrap quicker than a wink, if she feels the need!
I too have nothing but disgust for anyone who treats any animal badly, but temperament has a lot of predisposed factors to it.
