Up here in Wisconsin we judge distance by how long it takes to get there. We are truly rednecks in these parts. It takes me 35-40 minutes to get to work everyday, thank God I switch off driving with my best friend, Dena. It saves *a lot* on gas, and wear and tear on our vehicles.

Arizona - 25 miles each way 30 to 40 min depending if I'm running late or not ;)

California 25 miles - 45 min to one hour

Depends on your actual traffic in the commute and whether it's freeway or not.

Are you going to commute? For me, driving is a relaxing time, since I'm busy at home. Two hours is a long time though.

Do you guys even want me to answer??

My drive is about seven minutes (one mile or so if you go by distances).... the one red light and stop sign add the time...well, two stop signs if you count the one at the end of the street..but I consider that one a Yield ;) Ten minutes if I go by Jack's to get my breakfast.

Hey, I live in hick-ville, Alabama...what do you expect?

I have approximately 20-30 minutes to go by bus amd then 15 minutes by the underground. Plus 10 minutes of walk, so in total it makes about an hour. So to get to the office and back home I spend 2 hours daily. But it's Moscow, many people spend much more time on the road even if they drive: traffic jams are increadible here!

I live 1.3 miles from my work and it takes me between 4 and 6 minutes to get to work depending on the stop light. I commuted for years before I got the job I have now. My average commute was an hour 1 way. I hated it, but also it was stop and go traffic the whole way. I don't mind a one hour drive if it isn't stop and go. My parents drive 75 miles one way to work. They carpool which mom says makes it easier. All I can say is weigh your options. I love not having to commute and it makes my job more appealing to me because I don't have to. Plus, I love going home everyday for lunch to see the dogs and if something is wrong with one of them, I am close enough I just pop out for a few minutes to go check on them. Works for me. It depends on your situation though, sometimes taking a job close to home means taking a pay cut and that can hurt too sometimes..best of luck and let us know what you decide :)

2 miles

Those two miles can take 5 minutes with no traffic, but in morning and evening traffic, it takes about 15 minutes.

I live about 4 blocks from where I work. So close I couldn't get snowed in. If I were to call and say I'm snowed in, they would tell me put on my boots, button-up, and START WALKIN'! The main reason I drive is because I have to drop my son off at school and then on to work from there. This summer I will probably walk or ride my bike.

It usually takes about 10 minutes from my house. If I leave work before 5:00 p.m. it's 10 getting home. At or after 5:00, 15 to 20 minutes....rubberneckers! I'm very lucky - we don't have alot of traffic, just dumb drivers...!!!!

I used to live about 3 blocks from my office. The office was downhill from our house.
One winter we had a day or two that was so icy, I couldn't even walk! I bundled up and tried to walk to the office, but kept falling down. :p Even people's lawns were frozen to the point you'd slip.

I now work at home, so my commute is down the hall. :D Usually not much traffic.

I work at home---it's about 20 feet to my office which is directly across from my bedroom. Guess that 'splains my perpetual bedhead, jammies and mismatched socks. :D
