How and Why did you decide on your boxers name?

Dynamite, Chopper and Anchor

I first got dynamite when she was 2 months old (and her name was Tiffy, yuck), I had just moved 1000 miles away from home and family, I had her about a week and just couldn't think of the perfect name and I came home from work one day and my boyfriend at the time and my roomate said they had named her Dynamite and if I didnt like it too bad because they were going to call her that anyways. It just stuck! 4 Years later my husband and I adopted Chopper (who was named Tyson at the humane society) My husband wanted to name him Fred after his grandpa, but who names a dog fred!? I came up with Chopper because my husband rides a motorcycle and we compromised on Chopper Fred. We just added a new addition to our family and she was named Gretchen, we changed it to Anchor. We picked this name because my husband and I have been married only about 6 months and we got married on a boat and our wedding was all nautical themed, so I guess we are still living that moment!!!

 

[Baby Ripley]

We had a hard time deciding on a name for our little guy. Finally my husband said "the pattren on his coat looks like a ripple...why don't we call him Ripples?" To me "Ripples " might be heard as "Nipples" . So we decided the "Rilpey" would be a nice compromise.

Kilo's name?

My hubby named her, but Other names thought about were winter, snow, and Kilo. Kilo was the one she liked the best. Now all of my dogs sound like addicts: there is kilo, tipsy, and stupid drunk--not that he is stupid, because is is actually so smart!

Brody is named after the singer of one of my favorite bands, The Distillers. Molly is named after another one of my favorite bands, Flogging Molly. My daughter thinks it's great that we have "rock n roll" dogs!

Miss Millie McFly

I really wanted to go with a human sounding name, cuz those are the most fun. I originally wanted Stephanie, but I was prematurely calling the puppy that I was supposed to get (but the deal fell through) Stephanie, so I had to abandon the name when I found the puppy that I really took home. I decided on Millie because it was a human name that seemed to fit her, but wasn't TOO human. But when it came to registering her, I knew I wanted a longer name than just Millie.

My former roommate owns a boxer (which was the first boxer I ever lived with, and was the one who made me fall in love with the breed) and his name is Biff. If anyone remembers Back to the Future, Biff is one of the character's names. So, to tie Millie's official name in with Biff (since she and Biff were going to be the best of pals), I decided to add McFly (another character name). And she's such a lady, I added the Miss to make it a bit more feminine.

I came up with Cooper he is named after an English Boxer called Henry Cooper and Mark named Kymba as she is a Red/Brindle he looked up Aboriginal words and found that Kymba means bush fire so it was perfect for her. (they spell it kimba but i changed it)

With Addie I had a list of names for DH to choose from. I just always liked Addie.

With Clay DH just randomly came up with it....haha Cassius Clay....random right?

 

[Ranger's Dad]

We couldn't decide on a name the day we got Ranger from the breeder. We took him over to my brother-in-laws to show them and my sister-in-law came up with Ranger and we all liked it so it stuck. From the first time I saw Molly at the rescue she just looked like a Molly to me so there was no debating. The rescue gave Mack his name. They said they named him that because it sounded like the German word for scar (He has a very large scar down the legnth of his back) so we kept it and because he kinda looks like the dog on the hood of the Mack trucks.

My dog's name

These dogs are known for sitting on their back legs and kinda punching in the air and thats why they are called boxer as you probably know and i named mine Oscar, for ''Oscar de la hoya'' one of the best boxer of all time.

Hey everyone, this is Gina, Deutscher's girlfriend. We're still awaiting the arrival of our beautiful fawn puppy girl. We chose the name Madison, I know its not really original but Chris was in a hardcore band for a couple of years. His band and him were really close(his brother, best friend) and they went on tour and had a blast. Everyone went their own ways of course, with jobs and what not. But I know how much that time period in his life means to him, and when I saw pictures of the puppy I suggested the name "Madison" to him. He looked at me like "Why didn't I think of that??" It was a great reaction.

It just fits.
