Frito feet! You probably only have to bathe the feet, not the whole dog, frequently. As advised, look into a different food. And there are grooming products that you spray onto the coat from a squirt bottle and brush out that can help, especially in wintertime. Even babywipes might help.

But if you can't fix the problem, consider rehoming the dog. There's no use having a dog if he's not actually living with you, and being trapped in a room apart from the family is a prison.

Just out of curiosity...does your lovely wife have a very sensitive nose regarding other odors also.....or have you been showing more affection to your furbaby...than to your wife? (happy new year)

Please bring the boxer back in with you all where he belongs! Try the cologne for his fur and get a couple of bottles of Febreze for the house. Mist the carpets and anything fabric a couple times a day if you have to. Compromise, tell her you will train him to stay off the furniture and beds if that helps. Just please bring the baby back in!

so why not shake a little baby powder in the coat and brush it through? make the puppy smell good? I have never done it, is there a reason not to?

That's how boxer feet smell, it's a common trait and there's no getting rid of it. It's like gas, all boxers have gas, you can only do so much in order to bring it down a bit. Bring the dog back inside and tell your wife to deal with it.

The smell of cornchips? Could be alot worse. Get your favorite dip to go with the cornchips and bring that fur-baby in for a party!!

Same thing I was thinking. Try washing his feet daily...I use a soapy wash cloth. Another thing that seems to help is to keep the fur between the paw pads clipped as short as possible (I've started shaving them...much easier than trying to scissor). Good luck.

As a happily married woman (27yrs) I do appreciate your doing what your wife has asked, but after you try all of the good advice above and maybe it hasn't worked or there is possibly something deeper that is really the problem and not the smell, it may be time to step up to the bar and be the man of the house. Work it through, but doggy must stay with his family. I could not bear to have my babies outside looking in as my daughter has her two. (albeit with two skinbabes and a new home there is a reason.) Find a solution that suits you both and take back the pants in your family. Strong men are in. S.n.a.g.s are out! Keep us informed.

Yeah, I'd be curious what your wife thinks of the dog in general (besides the smell!) Was she supportive of you getting a pup in the first place? Or did you have him when you met her and she now doesn't like him? My mom is the BIGGEST clean freak ever and she never asked my dad to keep our dog outside when I was a kid... she just cleaned extra hard ... she loved our dog despite the messes he made.

I have no intention of sounding rude or trying to pry, but it's just something to think about... if your wife doesn't like the dog in general, you may not be able to win her over whether you overcome the smell issue or not!

Daily Brushing Might Help?

How often do you brush your dog? I have found that if we wait too long to brush Zuzu she gets a little bit "stinky" and I am amazed at the amount of "loose" hairs that she has. We bought the "Love Glove" from PetSmart and Zuzu really does enjoy it. It is a glove that has the rubber bumps on one side and the thumb, so it is like we are petting her and brushing her at the same time. The first few times we used it she was a bit wary, nothing that some yummy cheese did not help to solve We also make sure to vacuum the house on a pretty regular basis and we febreze the areas that Zuzu hangs around in every once in a while just to keep the air in the house fresh (we don't let Zuzu near anything that has been recently Febrezed - safety first!!)
