I guess you could just do what I do, ignore my husband. Hes come to realize that with me comes my babies. But I do a little of compromise, I dont bring them in until right before bed time unless the weather is bad (cold, raining etc) then they are in as soon as I come home from work. I make sure they get their playtime before we settle down in the house for the night, so they dont feel like they are being left outside to be ignored. I also teased my husband about moving in the dog house with the dogs, or putting a Tv and recliner out on the back deck. Also I love scented candles too which makes the house smell good. Our house is small too, so they dont always feel comfortable as they would outside running our 2 acres. The neighbors always do the most interesting things. Also have a 3 year that thinks they are her playmates too, so relaxing in the house is not always an option for them. I guess how they smell comes second to having them with me.
