I was wondering if I was the only one here that has done something like to that to get their way.

Don't kill me for saying this - but we went to the petstore in the mall in November (cuz I wanted a new puppy). To get Scott there, I fibbed and told him I just wanted to look!!! Of course, I fell in love with almost all of them (love those puppies!!) I saw Apollo and his sister sitting in a cage that said the sister was sold. Before I could ask the employee to pet him, some girl did. Scott wanted to leave, but I made him wait half an hour to see Apollo. We went into the room and I saw Apollo wag his nubb. Immediatly my plan went into action! I let Scott play with him on the floor and sure enough - as soon as that nubb wagged, Scott was hooked (Tiger (BT) can't wag his nubb). We carried him out and put a down payment on him. Two days later I stopped in after work and picked him up.

When we got him, neither of us knew anything about Boxers except that he was adorable. After being a member here for a few months, I've realized how stupid I was.....but I still think I got a great dog out of it!!!

Have any of you done something like this? I've always told Scott that if he makes me mad and can't think of anything to clear things up......bring home a puppy!!!!

Colleen,

My mom once told me to "Always let them believe that it's their idea and you'll get what you want" and boy was she right.

She also told me that if your hub has a hard time puting an outfit together, push most of the clothes to one side or the other and leave the outfit that you want him to wear kind of sticking out in the middle. Men will always grab for the easiest and most accessable clothes.

Coming from man's view..... silent treatment- that's a pleasure, no sex- don't get any anyways, no prepared meals, have to always fix my own . You would have to come up with some new ones for me. My wife usually just does it or buys it and then I'm stuck, mad for a while, but she gets what she wants. I.e. move to another house, 3 new cars, children, another dog...boy am I a sucker.

I also conned my husband, also named Scott, into our first boxer. I had already bought and picked up Bailey when I realized I would need to come up with some sort of plan. I stopped by his work and showed him Bailey--she was so cute, there was really no need to go any further, but I told him that the owner had let me borrow her so he could see her. I told him, as I was snuggling little Bailey, that it was up to him if we should keep her or not (I threw in a couple of sniffs, and made sad eyes as well). Well luckily he just loved Bailey, cause he saw right through my whole little scheme, and still teases me about it to this day!

Ok girls, I've always thought I was at the top of my game just like you. But, MY hubbie got me this time! We had lost our last 2 boxers 4 months apart to cancer. The last one died in August. I said no more boxers! I get too attached, I can't stand to loose them. Well, Christmas time came around and we put up the tree, with all our boxer ornaments on it. He looks at me and says;"This the first Christmas we haven't had a boxer since we have been together". Then comes the sneaky part, December 22nd he decides to send me with my best friend to get HER a boxer puppy. We leave town-get to the breeder and I see this cute little smosh face! Guess what my Christmas gift was...FREEDOM! I guess it is ok to be "conned" sometimes!;) RUMOR

I do the reverse con.... I cook almost every meal including making hubs lunch each day at the office, turn the ball games on for him, tell him he is wonderful and terrific all the time and spoil him rotten AND in return, I pretty much get everything I want :)
Also, I "chose the hill I want to die on" when I decide to be controversial- most things aren't worth arguing over anyway
