Have they ruled out hepatitis? Here is a link that describes it http://www.hepatitis911.com/article.cfm/id/17066

I hope that Gus is still doing well, and we're still sending out those prayers and healing vibes.

Gus is acting totally normal, which is the weird thing. His face/jaw isn't bothering him anymore. I dont know if the 2 things are even related. Maybe we just found the high liver enzyme becuase of the face pain. Maybe he will show signs later and we caught something (whatever it is) early.

He was on antibiotics for 2 weeks, so I think if he had any kind of infection it would have gone down, at least a little, not gone up more than double! Right now he is only on the liver protectant drug. I bought milk thistle for him. Does anyone know the proper dosage? He is 60 pounds.

I called the internist. I can't talk to her until Monday, but we are going back to her. I decided it will be better for him to see her than just the regular vet.

Just sending lots of good vibes to Gus. Hope you find out what's causing his elevated enzyme levels. It may be something very simple. I know of people who have high levels and they just drop back to normal again. So maybe animals are no different. I know you will still worry until you find out what's going on. Gus is still so young I bet it's all related to that jaw problem he had. Take care and keep us posted on how he's doing.

I wish they could figure out what is going on with sweet Gus! I will be checking back this afternoon to find out what you heard from the vet.

I just read your latest posts on Gus.... :( It is so frustrating when test results show something is not right, and there are no obvious symptoms - I feel for you, having been through it with my boy. Did your vet say anything to you about Denosyl (Sam-E is a less expensive option) for liver support? My boy was on Sam-E, along with the milk thistle, and his very high enzyme levels went down to within normal range. I hope you find out more from Gus' ultrasound - please keep us posted. Sending lots of healing and hopeful vibes to Sweet Gus, and hugs to you. I know how worried you are.

I know the SAM-e is the same as what he is on, the Denosyl (the vet didn't tell me that :(
What dosage of the milk thistle do I give him? I was going to ask the vet if it is okay to give him. I didn't know if they wanted to try to figure out whats going on first.
