Over the past few days, Gus hasn't been as active as he usually is. I hope he is just tired from his long day at the vet still :( I hope this isn't the begining of something. I am going to call the vet tomorrow. I wouldn't think any of his medications would make him sleepy. He is about 70-80% himself. He plays with Izzy, but not like he normally does. Izzy is more active then him right now, which she NEVER was. She was always WAY more laid back then him. He is eating and drinking fine. It's just weird that he wont play tug with Izzy. I am wondering if his face is starting to bother him again. He lets me put pills way back in his mouth though. And he is gaining back the weight his lost. He was down to 59 pounds, and is back to 62. The highest weight he has ever been is 64, and thin at that weight. Anyway, I will call the vet in the morning and keep everyone posted. Maybe his body just needs to adjust to all these new medications. I just hope he is better by his 2nd Birthday (January 24th)

I sure hope that he is just feeling tired, and that it is not any more serious than that. Sending out lots of feel good (((vibes))) for the handsome Gus, and his worried mom.

I called the vet, but she isn't too concerned about him being kinda tired. She said to call if he stops eating or starts to eat less. She wants me to try to video tape him when he is spitting up. He does it so fast, but I am going to try. I video taped him after he ate, what he does. He runs in my room and presses his head on the bed and pillows, and rubs his face. I thought he might have allergies, or is just a goof, but maybe it's something else. I don't know! She wants me to start him on Prilosec instead of Pepcid.

Gus was at the vet today for more bloodwork. His liver enzyme is still very elevated, but it did come down from last time. It was 3170 a month ago, and today it was 1730. She wants to continue him on the same meds, and recheck him again in another month. She recommends doing a liver biospy but said I could wait since he is acting totally normal. I might wait until the next check in a month. I don't really know what to do. If he was off the meds, it would probably shoot back up. She said he might have to be on meds the rest of his life. She is thinking hepatitis, and I guess a biopsy can confirm that. She said if we knew it was that, then we could treat that. She doesn't want to put him on steriods (treatment for hepatitis), unless she knows for sure he has it. She said the meds can make him really sick :( The biospy could be as much as 2000 dollars!!! And they would open him up. A needle biospy won't give an answer unless he had cancer. I would pay anything for my boy, I just don't have the money right now. I could get out extra school loans, which I think I will do. Please just keep praying for my boy. And if anyone has any experience with hepaptis, please share! I just hope this doesn't affect his quality or quantity of life.

Thanks for the update on Gus, I've thought of him often, and wondered how he was doing. I continue to keep you and Gus in my prayers, sending loads of healing vibes out to him, too. I understand how hard this is on you also, not knowing for sure what is going on with Gus. Hang in there, and please keep us posted. HUGS

I've been waiting to hear more about Gus. I'm sorry you don't have better news. I know how frustrating it can be financially (I recently had to put over $1,000 of Bailey's vet bills on my credit card) but like you said, there's nothing we won't do for them. Keep us posted and I will keep you, Gus and Izzy in my prayers.

Sorry to hear Gus isn't feeling too good. I know it's hard to try and decide whether or not to do the biopsy. An option might be to have a Laparoscopy done on him to obtain the biopsy from the liver. Just thought, it would be MUCH less invasive then opening him up and the recovery would be much faster and easier. There are few hospitals in Ohio that should be able to perform one. I will keep Gus in my thoughts and prayers, hope he is back to feeling good in no time at all.

Just checking in on Gus. Glad his levels came down!! Will keep praying they figure this out. Hopefully not hep., but at least then you'd know what it is. Keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers.
