Hi Greg,

The corns eat frozen fuzzies now. We handle them everyday. They are very tame. We have 1 normal, 1 ghost, 1 anytheristic (sp), and 1 orange colored one that we don't know what she is. They are very calm when tame. The wiggle more than the pythons. The corns don't wrap around you like the balls. More than happy to answer your questions. Your not being nosey, just courious. That's how you learn.

Sorry it took so long to respond. wackicon

Got Pet Snakes

Hi BxrnGsdOhMy, Thanks for all the info of a corn snake. I'm glad you handle your snake kids daily. To many people get pet snakes and just keep them in a tank to look at. Snakes love to be handled and played with. Hand friendly snake are very tame. I travel with my Gloria in warmer weather. She sit on my back of my neck and we go outside to mow lawn or work in yard. she loves it outside, also loves the green grass to crawl in. So does Monte. I take them out seperate, just easier that way to keep an eye on.

Sorry Greg, I dont have any snakes. I have always had a big fear of snakes. I even had friends that had them and I would never hold them. I was always afraid it would bite me or something. :( Until one day, my boyfriend and I were at the fair and this guy had snakes you could have your picture taken with. Well, he said since I was scared he wanted me to hold his little snake first. So he sat this snake on my shoulders and left it for like 10 minutes. He just went away and was getting the picture background ready. Boy was I freaking!! But, I got so comfortable with it. It just stayed sitting around my shoulders with it's little head on my shoulder. I began to like it!:D So, anyways, the snake we had the picture with was a lot bigger. I will scan it and put it in my photo gallery so you can see. Sorry so long....didn't realize my story would be so long.

Got Pet Snakes

Hi Jewels, Thanks for checking out Got Snakeswormicon. I took a look at your picture of you holding that very large snake. That looks like a large Bermese Phyton. Thats a little bigger than what I have or like. My two snake kids are Ball Phytons, they don't grow that big. They only get to be about six foot long. They are easy to handle because they are much smaller than the one in your picture. I also checked out your Boxer baby in your pictures, just a cutie pie she is. Don't worry about long stories I get a little long winded myself:LOL: HaHA. Hope to talk to you again about snakes.

Hello everyone,

Long time, no chat. Haven't been here for a long time! Didn't know this thread was still alive! Wonderful! We moved, and I had to get rid of the baby ball, but I purchased a 5ft male from the Bob Clark bloodlines. He's awesome, and even more docile than my first one. I also have a Hogg Island Boa, he's good when he's out of the cage, but extremly aggressive when you go to get him out, he's also about 4ft. Had a blood python, but a guy got so interested in it, I sold it to him, also very sweet, and docile. I'm taking care of a 7ft albino burmese for a friend who went on vacation, he's got an "cold", and needs to be treated daily, it's a pain in the royal arse, but i'll live.
keep them both in seperate 55 gal tanks. Don't know what they would do to each other if I put them together, and really don't want to find out. I'm afraid they may not like each other and one would get hurt.
I think I remember you saying that one was male, and one was female? They wouldn't hurt eachother, even if they were both males, and both females. If you put the two together, they might breed, but I hear you have to have things pretty top-notch for that to happen. As long as one isn't EXTREMLY larger than the other, there shouldn't be a problem. The reason you're not suppose to house Boas, and Pythons together is because the python is immune to some diseases that boas are not, and they might carry them and infect the boa with the disease that would kill the boa, but leave the python unharmed. Snake species such as Kingsnakes would eat eachother. Do research before putting just any two snakes in a cage, it will let you know if your snake is a cannibal, or not. Two pythons that are close in size shouldn't be a problem.
I keep mine in seperate 55 gallon tanks with hot rock
You use a heat rock? A rock that is heated inside the cage? If this is what you're refurring to... It's NOT a good idea. If the animal stays to long on the heat rock it could be severly burned. Just FYI.

Take care! I look forward to replies!

Got Pet Snakes

Hi N2Boxers, Thanks for all the info about my Ball Python kids. Yes they are both about the same size, but I'm really not interested in the the breeding end of snakes. I just enjoy them as pets. I've had Monte with a heat rock for a few years now and it hasn't been a problem (yet). I keep a old waterbed heater under Gloria's tank and that seems to work a lot better. It sends the heat evenlly about the tank. I'm looking for another waterbed heater for Monte too. Nice talking to you again
