Hello everyone,
Long time, no chat. Haven't been here for a long time! Didn't know this thread was still alive! Wonderful! We moved, and I had to get rid of the baby ball, but I purchased a 5ft male from the Bob Clark bloodlines. He's awesome, and even more docile than my first one. I also have a Hogg Island Boa, he's good when he's out of the cage, but extremly aggressive when you go to get him out, he's also about 4ft. Had a blood python, but a guy got so interested in it, I sold it to him, also very sweet, and docile. I'm taking care of a 7ft albino burmese for a friend who went on vacation, he's got an "cold", and needs to be treated daily, it's a pain in the royal arse, but i'll live.
keep them both in seperate 55 gal tanks. Don't know what they would do to each other if I put them together, and really don't want to find out. I'm afraid they may not like each other and one would get hurt.
I think I remember you saying that one was male, and one was female? They wouldn't hurt eachother, even if they were both males, and both females. If you put the two together, they might breed, but I hear you have to have things pretty top-notch for that to happen. As long as one isn't EXTREMLY larger than the other, there shouldn't be a problem. The reason you're not suppose to house Boas, and Pythons together is because the python is immune to some diseases that boas are not, and they might carry them and infect the boa with the disease that would kill the boa, but leave the python unharmed. Snake species such as Kingsnakes would eat eachother. Do research before putting just any two snakes in a cage, it will let you know if your snake is a cannibal, or not. Two pythons that are close in size shouldn't be a problem.
I keep mine in seperate 55 gallon tanks with hot rock
You use a heat rock? A rock that is heated inside the cage? If this is what you're refurring to... It's NOT a good idea. If the animal stays to long on the heat rock it could be severly burned. Just FYI.
Take care! I look forward to replies!
