I've had my house robbed, but I didn't have a dog at the time. Creeps took EVERYTHING, including all the venison in the freezer and all the pillowcases to carry it all!
I don't really know for sure what Luke would do in that situation, but I know he has strong instincts, and like a friend of mine says, "If an animal has teeth... it CAN bite, no matter what animal it is or personality it has." So.... I assume the potential is always there, no matter what the situation is. :)

Being a single female, in my home I have double-paned windows, deadbolt locks on all doors, a monitored alarm, and 2 very vicious sounding dogs who I feel will most definitely come to my rescue should I need it. If all else fails, I also have a baseball bat right next to my bed! Am I ready or what??? smashicon smashicon

I believe so,

I think that Cassius would act on instinct. I don't count on him though. Anyone who enters my private property uninvited would be best off to have a kevlar suit of ARMOUR (I am a pretty good shot) I do think that Cassius would sense my fear and act accordingly to protect his "pack"..

BooBoo & Riley

Completely Boxer Crazy
BooBoo will bark at the door when either someone rings the doorbell, knocks on it, or if the door knob wiggles... It doesn't matter whos on the other side, his daddy, his god parents, whoever, he'll bark until I show up, tell him to calm down and then open the door.

When we were at our old townhouse, which had two stories. One day I was home sick and laying in bed sleeping... His daddy forgot his keys and was trying to get in without ringing the door bell. He was trying to wiggle the door knob and peak through the side window... Well this cause BooBoo to bark like crazy... he would bark at the "intruder", then run upstairs and bark at me to wake me up, then run back downstairs and bark at the intruder some more... apparently this cycle of events happened for like 5 minutes before I finally woke up and dragged myself downstairs.

This shows me that he'll protect me, don't know what'll happen if someone breaks through the door, but hopefully his protective behavior will have chased whoever away before the carry on the plan.

I know that Sonny would protect me or anyone of the family. When Wade and I wrestle around, Sonny goes nuts barking at his daddy, he knows we are playing and tries to play too by nipping at Wades feet or jumping on his back, whatever he can get too. I know that if somebody was trying to hurt any of us, they will be the ones hurt. I pity that foolfoolicon. He also barks when somebody knocks on the door or rings the bell, he will bark until I open the door and he can see who it is. If he knows the person he just wanders off but if not he always stand between me and them, not barking just letting his presents be known.. my Sonny, my protector!

BUBBA'S MOM

Boxer Buddy
Bubba reacts to me, normally if someone knocks on the door I go to the door & Bubba goes with me & we meet i & greet, but when a sales person comes & I'm home alone Bubba must sense I'm nervous becz he immediately jumps up on the security door & turns into a vicious dog I do not know, I just say I'm sorry I can't open the door (it's a glass door & they can see me), if they don't leave right away he runs out his dog door & does the same thing on the gate to the fence, which has an iron window in it so he can see out & they can see him...noone ever comes back for a 2nd try! He nver barks at anyone he knows or people who normally come to the door like the mailman, fedex guy or the pizza guy, they pizza guy ask me one time if he could bark! Oh yea he can bark! My sweet baby boy!

I used to think that Ollie would not do anything, but lately I know she would. I love having her around because she hears sounds that I don't! Anyone that is suspicious will definitely hear from my baby!

Boo would definitely growl and bark. The problem is that if anyone got in the house, she would hide under the bed. Picture a 70lb boxer trying to drag herself under the bed in a real hurry.

The really bad part is that it was probably someone you know... someone who had been to your home.

Titus throws a fit when someone comes up in the yard. His hair will stand up on his back and he will charge the storm door. Then we let whoever it is in and he immediately goes in a major kidney beaning session and bounces from one piece of furniture to the other :p We are still working on that. He makes everyone think he is bad but he's a little wuss.
