Canidae changing formula??

I am leaning towards either one of the Wellness' (Core or their normal formula thats comparable to Canidae), Fromm's Four Star and will now look at Innova. I know there's no way to predict which will give me the least amount of trouble without trying them. At his point I don't think it matter switching her cold turkey, can't give her worse taco craps than she's already had.

Wellness doesn't have a formula that compares to Canidae's old formula just an FYI. Personally I switched to Natural Balance Lamb Meal and Brown Rice which was the closest ingredient wise I could get to Canidae's Lamb and Rice formula. It is also gluten free which I needed and comparable otherwise also. Good luck!

TOTW does not guarantee that their food is Ethoxyquin free so personally I would pass on that and go with the other 2 instead.

Maybe I'll just try the Wellness Core, I've been meaning to try a grain free food. Anyone know how big the kibble is? The Canidae was nice cause it was small enough to feed to the Chihuahua.

yep!
it's been 2 weeks my boys have the new formula, and their poop are gross yellow smelly loose runny. yuck yuck yuck!
i'd like to stick to it, but it's gross....

no gas though (yeah!) but i prefered the older formula - their poop were super firm with it

I usally go between the ALS, rice & chicken and the lamb & rice. BUT now his poop is like a cow patty, light in color and super stinky! Not to mention he's lost weight! Im so upset about the formula change, it was perfect for Kane and Trixie( chi-weine)

This is incredibly disappointing. We have been on Canidae for years and LOVED it.....I will be emailing them and voicing my opinions as well.

We are having all of the same problems---Horrible diarrhea and accidents in the house (they are 4 and 5 years old!!)

My local pet store has also had a lot of complaints with Canidae since they change dthe formula. They are not certain if they will keep carrying it..if the formula stays as is.

After sending my concerns via' email to Canidae this is the response I received. I was just curious if the reply you guys received was the same...? .....just wondering how automated this is..... They did not address the outsourcing their manufacturing to a Diamond plant--and I did mention....

That sounds pretty generic to me. I however had one that was probably 2 pages long, however I was addressing their change in formula as well as them trying to put a positive spin on down graded ingredients. So my response from them was long, although I'm 99% sure still automated.

We just got our first bag with the new formula a couple weeks ago and the only difference I have found is that my border beagle will now eat it without the yogurt. In the past he was very reluctant to eat unless I put something on it - I guess he didn't like the taste. I haven't seen a noticable change in Bella's stools so we will be sticking with Canidae.

the poop is definetly SUPER stinky...

but my main concern, is that Snatch has been VERY itchy. More than usual. He is prone to "environement" itchiness.. like licking his paws and his tummy.

But it seems to have worsen with the new formula... i feel bad for my boy..

They have fish grain free foods as well as venison. I know Natural Balance has a Venison and sweet potato as well as a fish and sweet potato. If you need gluten free they have a Lamb Meal and Brown Rice formula. I believe Wellness also has a couple of allergy formulas using Duck or something else.
