Boxer Traits

Clowns

Mostly, dogs like to be pet on their head or below the ears. My dog definetly does not like it. Everytime I try to pet him like that he turns his back and wants me to pet him massaging his back legs. Whenever I start doing it, everything stops for him. Even if he is playing with his favourite toys, he drops them and enjoys the massage.
And also another trait I noticed with Snob is that he can not sleep without touching me or other family members.
Can not do without him.

My newest baby Jake (flashy brindly male, floppy cutest ears )loves to lay on his back with all his feet in the air especially to sleep. He also likes to put his front paws on our shoulders to get his sides scratched. His adoptive step mom Brandi (10 and 3/4 yo fawn, recently put down) also loved to meet us every day at the door for her hugs. She would put her front paws around our necks and love us hello. We miss her still. My other boxers in the past would prance sideways across the drive in a kind of crab walk. Jake likes to stick his head in the shower and lick the water and help to dry me off when I get out. I just love boxers. they are the only dogs for me!!

What about being your shadow and thinking he's got to go everywhere with you, and if he doesnt, then, man the guilt trip is on!!

from personal experience not alot of dogs want to make direct eye contact but Rock looks me right in the eyes sometimes and I swear it's like he is looking right into my soul. It's like he can read my mind and me his. Sounds corny I know but that's a trait that my boxer has along with the dozens of others listed in this thread. JENN

Ralph loves to play with other dogs when we're out walking, but if theres no one about then i get it! He charges me trying to make me move, If i'm walking by a puddle its garenteed that he'll come stomping through at high speed just to get me wet.

We also get all the usual boxer stuff, big (suck all the air from the room) sighs, front legs over our shoulder for a cuddle when we come home. Drooling, wind, oh and sneezing on you.

All in all a very well mannered dog.

we love him

The early riser thing...

Did anybody mention drooling and jumping straight up in the air? And being early risers (Ugh)? How about gorgeous, spoiled, lovable, and irresistable? How about wouldn't trade them for a million? :)

I have an eight week old baby girl (Hannah) that thinks everyone should be up between 5:00 and 5:30. Guess what? We are! Our four month (Haley) thinks we're all crazy.

Hello

Hello!! My husband and I have just joined BW!! We have a 1 year 4 month old fawn named Bucky. He is the greatest dog in the world. We were just out of town over night and he had to stay at his grandma's...his second favorite place to be!! It was amazing how much we missed him and we were only gone for the night.

It was so fun to read all the different traits that other boxers have. They all sound exactly like our Bucky. One trait that no one mentioned that Bucky does is when he is sleeping.....he'll start barking with his mouth closed and he sounds like he is laughing. It is so funny!! We always say that he just heard a funny joke in his sleep!!

another goofy trait

Another goofy trait that our Bucky does is....when we are sitting down, he always has to come and stand over our legs so that it touches his chest or tummy. We will move our feet out from under him and he will still step over them so that he can stand over our legs again. He will stay like that for as long as we let him. Does anyone else's boxer do this goofy thing??
