Tank does this too.... he licks at the bubbles floating around in the shower from my shower gel. he usually sits just outside the tub with his head hanging over one end, he's fascinated with the soap bubbles!

I have just sat and read all of these threads on boxers and their traits..and i just have to say that my boxer (tango) who is 3 does all of these things and the kidneybean ya just gotta love. Tango is my 1st boxer and i am thinking now of getting him a little lady all of his own.. but i am not sure how he would react to another dog in the house as he is the boss . I just have one question to ask thought to all of you who own male boxers!!! does your dog have a habit of hanging his doghood out for all the world to see???.. i find this very embarrassing as i really think he does not know how to tuck it away.. any ideas anyone??? many thanks for reading this and hope to hear from you all soon...xxxx Dawn and Tango..

There are 2 things that every Boxer I know does that's not mentioned here:

1) Loves to get on the counter and go for the loaf of bread. I keep in or on the ice box now!

2) Trash eating!! One of my girls has now learned how to open the cabinet door to get to the trash. Guess I need child locks.

Other than these, I think my girls fit into the Boxer traits pretty well.

Tango's Habits

Dawn, Kiara is a female so I am fortunate not to have to go through the embarassment. Yes, it must be a boxer thing as my next door neighbour has a male boxer and he does the same thing.......... we call it his "lipstick"

My male does the same thing. He just hangs out and I tell him boy you put that thing away! It is funny because I think he understands me sometime.
As far as a girl of his own, Jeff was so spoiled when we got Reba. He loves having Reba around. They play tug of war and run in the back yard for hours and then barrel through the doggie door for a nap. They are always one upping each other on the love and kisses though.
what is so funny to me is how my male will stand there next to me and lay his head on my lap or the coffee table like it is too heavy to lift. Then if he doesn't get my attention right away with that he will whine just like a baby. Reba sees him and they both lay their heads real close together on my lap or coffee table and sound like a duo practicing for the opera sometime.

Kiara is the same!! If we don't give her 200% attention she starts talking her doggie talk to us and pacing up and down. She will then go and get one of her toys and start throwing around the room in temper.
Her best friend is defiately the boxer next door. They play together, walk together, and when they sleep, one will be asleep on the othr one.......its sooooo cute!
She has however developed a new habit. I live in Dubai and there are alot of people in local dress. For some strange reason, Kiara......... who never barks, didn't know she could.......goes crazy when a local or indian in local dress comes to the door. Can't understand why, she's the softest dog I have ever known. we have been in the Middle East for the 4 yrs she has been around but suddenly this year she doesn't like them??? Any ideas?

My Jake is the biggest trash eating dog around. He will dig into a bag of trash if we leave it on the porch worse than the racoons, so now we have to put it on top of our shed. And we used to have a lip on top of our trash but he broke it so now we have to set it up on the counter.

And bread, well, you would think he was a Frenchman the way he steals bread. I have to keep it on top of the fridge now, he will steal bread or rolls quicker than you can say, "Butter".

How about not wanting to go outside when it's cold or if the grass is wet! He will low crawl under the bushes benieth our bedroom window because there is peat gravel there and he will go to the side of the house that isnt wet and go potty. He hates to get his paws wet on the grass, but he loves water!! Or bringing you a toy to play with then taking it away before you can grab it then running to the sofa and shoving it underneath to hide it from you. Then he will sit there and cry because his toy is stuck under the couch.

Oh and the all famous, not listed enough GAS!!!
