Spenser pretty much fits in all the above descriptions...

Smelly Gas
Kidney Beans
Lays on back
Etc. Etc. Etc.

And, of course we LOVE all of this.

But, one thing he does that no one has yet mentioned is that he likes to squeek his toys.

now i'm not just talking about squeeking them to get his attention while playing, he will put his toys in his mouth, find the squeeker and squeeze it in his jaw so it sounds over and over and over and over (sometimes for excess of five minutes or more).

and it is not just standard squeek toys, we have tried lower "honking" toys, "speaking" toys and just about every other sound we could and he just keeps squeeking.

I've learned to tune it out, but drives my future wife-2-B crazy.

Makes a nice alarm clock when sounded in the ear while sleeping though ;)

Anyone else SQUEEK???

Yep! Boxers definetly have personalities unlike any other breed!

One of Dempsey and Zero's favorite past times is chasing lizards. Most of the ones that hang out on our porch and in the dog run have no tails! Their tails break off in order to escape a predator. Thankfully they can grown them back.:p

I've never witnessed them catching one. Thankfully the critters are quick. :p
Our lab, in her younger days, caught one and ate it before we could get it from her. She upchucked it a while later.

Hey, Froggie,
My Oscar is a "squeeker", too. He will squeek toys right up in your face. He is not satisfied just playing with the toy and having it occassionally squeek. Oh, NO, with Oscar, he walks around the house with it in his mouth, going SQUEEK, SQUEEK, SQUEEK, SQUEEK, SQUEEK,ETC. You get the picture. It is soooo annoying. Sometimes I have to take away the squeeky toys and just give him a nylabone. It can be very nerve racking. He also likes to rip open stuffed toys with squeekers and pull out the squeekers. So, needless to say, he only gets those toys under direct supervision. I am afraid one day I may hug him and he will squeek from eating a squeeker.
Love my babies, though. Lori:p

Just like my Igor! He gets so enthousiastic for his squeaky toy that sometimes I doubt he is perfectly ok in his head...:D He can squeak it hours and hours, non stop!!! He is completly crazy about it! I have to hide them or I will become crazy too!:D

Traits

Just some traits of my boy -

He does the head resting thing too. I noticed that his mother did it right off the bat. I adore it when he does that. He'll come over and look up at me with those sad eyes of his and rest his head. Love it!

He will lie on his back, though he rarely sleeps in that position.

He loves to create a dust storm in the back yard. We have an area under a tree that is mostly sand and he'll occassionally seem to have a complete fit underneath the tree and kick up tons of dirt everywhere. It is not unusual during these romps to see his 360 circle jump in the air.

He loves to be blowdried. Don't ask me why. When I blowdry my hair he always comes over for his own.

Has a squeaky fixation. He kills squeakies all the time.

Gas too! (Although what is really funny about this are the moments that he surprises himself with a toot. You'd think he'd know it was coming)

Does not enjoy fetch. I get the sense that while other dogs see it as a game to play, he only sees it as an act of manipulation. 'This person is taking my thing and making me go and get it and then wants it back. How weird is that?' - AT least that's how I see it.

Sheds moderately throughout the year with an occassional HUGE shed that lasts for a few days.

That's all I can think of. I'm sure something else that he does that I find adorable will come to mind as soon as I post, but oh well. I enjoyed reading all the traits!

to Norma

Norma I just read your post about your boy peeing on his hind legs because all he sees are female boxers. I thought you would find this funny:

My boxer girl grew up with a male dog one year older than her and she is 10 and a half now. Well, she STILL pees in a squat with one leg lifted off the ground! It's the cutest thing you ever saw.
