Boxer Traits

Don't remember if I read this one or not but how about them lying on your bed and playing deaf or dead when you try to get them to move :p Titus will just lay there and won't budge. I have to slide my arms under him and slide him around so I can lay down. He's a big ham.

The Stinky Trait

Picture laying in bed, you've gotten nice and comfy.... Reesy is finding a great place to lay down. Then all of a sudden you hear a small poot and then air behind it. You crack a grin and even might giggle a bit. Then that air finally hits your nose. OMG, you want to sleep in another room. It is a awful smell.

Then you've got the excited kidney bean. My big kidney bean goes in circles when she gets excited.

Boxers are wonderful dogs. I can't get enough of them.

My Semmi is not alone in her craziness...

She is a Kidney Beaner
Gassy
She has a great Boxer smile!
Loves to run (and doesn't know how to come back home when she gets out of the yard)
Will sit right on top of us when we are cooking or doing the dishes
Not vocal at all
An active sleeper (between the barking, growling and running in her sleep, I am amazed she gets any rest at all)
Drooler
Hugger
Sigher
Sprays when she pees and just keeps walking when she has to go number 2.
Zonks right out as soon as we pull out of the driveway on a road trip. I can only hope when we have kids they are half as good as she is in the car.

Hubby and I were talking the other day about what life was like before her...I don't remember...must have been pretty boring.

Holly & Brody

lovicon Holly 2 1/2 yrs. female and Brody 3mos.old male have all the traits of all the boxers I have read about. It's amazing how Brody has learned the trait of racing around the house like a madman so quickly. Brody just stands when he needs to go tee-tee. He sometimes gets his back feet wet. I don't know how he'll ever learn to lift his leg as all he ever sees is my female. Boxers are a lot to handle, especially as I am a bit older than the average owner, but maybe they'll keep me young. They keep me company, and I wouldn't give them up for anything. So far I haven't taken the younger one to the park, but that is coming soon. I plan on getting another extension leash and then we'll go to the park. Maybe this week. I love them soooo much.

damn these dogs are great

man ive been bustin up reading all these its all too familiar. Tank does all that stuff, however he learned something new last week, if we fill his water bowl to the top and put ice cubes in his water, he'll take a deep breath and stuff his whole face under the water and blow bubbles out his nose till he's out of breath and do it again. Not just little bubbles, but big ones that makes the water spill everywhere meand my wife laugh our butts off!

Our monster is our 2nd boxer. He is Jackson, flashy fawn boy, natural ears, and 9 mos. old. He does all of the above including using me as a chew toy (just kind of slimes me). Runs like a maniac, and will hurdle you if you are in the way. After the running jag, he flops on the couch. He likes to lay on the cool tile...you guessed it...on his back.

We had a female boxer years ago, and she was a citizen compared to this guy.

He is lovable!!

I's the sad look.;)

I love reading all of these!
Can you imagine all of us in a room, talking about boxer traits? We'd have so much fun.
:D
The thing that really makes me smile is the way that my boxers always have to be touching me when they are sitting still, or sleeping. They can't be anywhere but right next to me with some body part touching. A friend was here visiting and he was laughing about how Kennocha was sleeping by him with her head on one foot and her butt on the other. he said that she made a complete circuit.

Well, I now have had Jake long enough to notice his quirks.

  • He makes stinky farts.
He kidney beans when I get home.
    He's a snuggler.
He goes through an elaborate ritual before he goes to sleep on the bed attempting to make a "nest" but actually just scratching and pretending to.
    He's a food snatcher.
He gets in moods where he needs to burn off some stress or energy where he races around the yard in HUGE circles at top speed, then he comes in to the house.
He sounds like he's going to tear our other dog up when he's playing with her even though he's less than half her size. (His bark is definitely worse than his bite)

Too Cute...... (you smelled Jake after some time)
I'm a second Boxer owner, I smelled my first, on day 1, hehehe
Are boys gassier than girls? I didn't smell my sweetie, (girl) for a week or so, she was adopted, so maybe she was holding it in, wanted a new home.hehehe

God Blessed Me with another good one, she is so sweet. Has ALL the traits of yours so I won't list em. I think it's a BOXER thing, these kids show us all.

Has anyone ever thought of organizing a huge Boxer Bash ???
Say, 2 years from now, get em all, 1000 Boxers together????
WOW!!! I'd be there...........
