Boxer Traits

I'll tell you all what, I am in LOVE with this precious baby of mine. The more I browse this site, the more I know how much I have to look forward to. I had to tear myself away from him this morning. I was going to call in sick cause I didn't want to leave him. He is ALREADY such a character. And the way our other dog is SO patient with him and his antics. I'm really proud of her too. Jake acts like he's going to tear her up and then he hides behind mommy's legs for protection while he still growls.

He was snoring and dreaming last night. I couldn't imagine having a child I loved as much as my precious little goober.

When they're dreaming, MRSCHERRY,
I've always said their "chasing rabbits", guess that's what it seems like to me. My boy, and now, even my new girl dreams like crazy, they move about and their sound is kind of like a whine.
At first I was unsure of what to do and always woke my boy, However, I learned to let 'em dream,
just maybe, maybe their enjoying the fantasy their in.....
"of chasing rabbits"......

I think of the woo woo sounds like Chubakah. that's what we say to maggie. If we start going Chubakah, chubakah, she starts making the noises.

Maggie - flashy fawn, born 4/2000, natural ears, part human.

We have always called Phantom, Chewbaka because of that noise he makes "WOO WOO" and when he yawns funny!! I am glad to see we are not the only ones. Mine pretty much do all of the above, but they really like to get under the covers and sleep!! Also, Sydney likes to sit on your chest and lick your face and she will not stop unless you stop her!!!

common traits....

tank does all the things mentioned above... deep sighs, kidney beaning (although i never knew what that was before,) laying his head on my lap, but the thing i find that really seems to characterize him is that he is so inquisitive!!! i've never known a dog to be so curious. it is almost like he is a little child, not a dog at all. i tell him he is my curious little boy, especially when he is sniffing and tilting his head from side to side. anyone else notice that everytime you try to do AAAAAAAANYTHING with a boxer dog in the same room, that they have to be right there in the middle of it??? lol:rolleyes:

love it!

Oh, I love this topic! I think I just love everything Duke does. I especially love the kidney beaning. I think that is the cutest thing ever. He turns his body so that his butt touches his sweet little smooshy cheeks. Ha - cheek to cheek! LOL. I also love the way he snores and gets those sad little eyes. When we have to swat him for doing something bad, his little eyes look like they carry the weight of the world. don't you just love how expressive a boxer's face is?! One trait that I just love is how forgiving he is. If we get mad at him for something, he is only sad or upset with us for seconds. I also love how, when he sleeps, he lays down and puts his head in between his two front legs. I just love it!

Eggs!

Our Bonnie eats raw eggs - her coat is very shiny from this habit, but boxers are already gassy - imagine what this does - I have stopped buying them now!
She also sits on the trampoline when the kids bounce and I swear, she smiles at them:D
The boxer dog is the best 'family' dog I have ever encountered, she is one of the children!

My Lily loves to lay on something soft. My sofa isn't soft enough for her and if I add a dogbed to it, she will lay on it. I think it's because she has no fat for padding.

I just bought another one at TJ Maxx that is really soft, big and fashionable and it was about the same price as the generic ones you can find at the pet store.

I have a Weimeraner pup and she is the same way. My long gone Cocker wouldn't ever lay on a dog bed, but preferred the floor.

My baby does most of the things already posted, but she dosen't lay on her back, chase insects, swim or woo woo:( . She does, however, love to chase(sticks, tennis balls, squirrels:D or just about anything else that runs from her) jump, help prune my bushes (she has a green dew claw) and dig post holes weather or not I have posts than need holes. I could go on and on, but I'm sure most of you know how that is w/ your own kids. Suffice to say she is a boxer with all the good and not quite as good that it entails and I couldn't be happier.
