Boxer Traits

:D Love our boxer dog, has all the traits - jumps over a 7 foot fence - just to see what the neighbours are doing. Breaks the cat flap once a week to see what the other neighbours are doing, paws at all the windows to see people walking by - but if a stranger comes in - she whimpers in the corner - unless its kids - she love those and plays all the games with them like - steal your toys, sit on your head, pinch your crisps and ice cream. She has also managed to get the lid off a beer bottle - just enough to drink the beer but not damage the bottle. She makes a perfect family!

Magics strange things

Magic has some traits posted and some i wish she had, lol

Snoring
farting,
grunting,
running around like a mad-man,
hogging the covers and pillows,
laying on back all the time,
she does summer saults,
cleans her feet like a cat,
uses everyone as a personal napkin,
jumping and flipping in mid air,
burping,
playing and then falling asleep standing up (i think she is fooling us on that on) and then pouncing us when we have our back turned,
she also does this weird thing where she runs and slids on the lienolum (sp) at us at about 40mph, lol
kidney beaning all the time,
giving our friends skin kid lessons on misbehaving, lol, she teaches him to be bad by running around the house with him, lol,

Does not swim, or sing, :( Bandit does sing though, boy do i miss that.
Does not know that Sunday is Nascar day and Mom and Dad are allowed to sleep untill 9 am.
Does not like going out side if there is no sun out.....i know that is a weird one.
Does not like rain on her back or getting her feet muddy.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST,
DOES NOT KNOW SHE IS A DOG, THINKS SHE IS A HUMAN, but dont tell her that.

lovicon But she is our angelicon and we love her to death, and wouldnt trade her for the world, but i would trade Matt for another boxer, hehehehe

I am a new comer to this site and new to being a boxer mommy. Belle exhibits all of the traits mentioned and is the love of my life. She is very smart. My husband has taught her to sit, stay, speak, roll-over, and play dead. She is so proud of herself when she performs and of course can't wait for that "special treat". I love boxers!

Does anyone else have wood/laminate flooring - Bonnie runs like a cartoon dog - legs going fast - body going nowhere!! She is 18months old and still sits on our laps!
Will 'wash' her face in her water bowl if its dirty and then come for a 'kiss'. Dogs just don't get better than a boxer!

My Boxer Surfs

My boxer, female called 'cariad' - (welsh 4 darling) can surf.

i went out body-boarding a while back and managed to get her onto the board. The thing is, she can now balance better than me, especially on waves, when she leans into the flow of the water. Other kids surfing think its funny, but I'm quite proud!

she also kidney beans, farts, catches flies, snores, wipes her face on me after dinner, steals all the bed after i fall asleep, likes fruit, wriggles around on her back, barks like she has a bad cold, howls occasionaly and looks so serious about it, it makes our sides hurt with laughing. She also loves water and will swim arounf for hours and fetch things up from underwater.

i now don't want kids, i want another boxer!

Travis and Robbyn with Austin: 5 1/2 month old Fawn, Male, with some flash, natural ears, 35.2 lbs last March 17, 2003.

Austin's traits and personality:

- same with everyone on farts, snoring, wiggly butt when excited,
- eye goober, big smiles, running aimlessly around the house in short speed bursts
- hiding under the bed we have a tall bed frame and then having only half his body sticking out like frog legs.
- sitting down and watching you in the bathroom as you sit on the toilet - he really just wants me to wad up some TP so he can chew on it.
- trying to catch the shower water in his mouth as he half stands on the bath tub and pops his head around the shower curtain!
- biting at sprinklers as they shoot out the water
-chases leaves as the wind blows them
- using his paws for just about everything: wake up in bed, smack in the face, asking for something, trying to get your attention, shaking hands, and playing.
-pretends he's a pointer at times and lifts one front leg as he inspects something
- likes to be carried like a baby. I put him on one hip and hold him as his little paws go around my neck (won't happen for too much longer!)
- sleeps under the blankets by our feet and then ends up on our pillows in the morning facing us with his doggy breath! Basically a bed hog!
- very intelligent and a fast learner.
- not scared of anything but another dog bark! He's more curious about the vacuum and the trash dump truck!

This is my first boxer and after reading some of your replys I now have a better understanding of my Evander, a 4 month old fawn male puppy running around the couch at lightening speed for no apparent reason. Laying on his back with his feet in the air, the horrible and I mean horrible gas, the woowooing he does, chasing his tail and the snoring! Jumping in the air and all the other little traits that make the boxer special!

Gosh I never knew that raising a boxer could be this much fun, he is the envy of the neighborhood, everyone knows Evander!;)

To anybody that said GAS!! I have to strongly agree....Parker really doesn't care when where or who he does it on

He also is very jealous...My girlfriend stays with me very reguarly and Parker never wants to sleep in the bed (always on the couch or in "his" lazyboy) except when she spends the night...Cute, however a little annoying after not seeing her and wanting some "alone time"

Traits: getting in the garbage.
- socks....he loves socks and fabric softners
- If we're out and he sees another boxer he goes crazy but only for other boxers.
-he humps everything
-he loves to jump, ie. from the couch to the lazyboy.
-and he's amused by the vacuum cleaner.
-he loves to stick his head out of the car window and let his jaws flap too. this is very very funy!!!

And a question for all of you Male owners....Parker is 7 months old and he hasn't "dropped" yet...The vet said he should have already and is really pushing me to fix him but we were supposed to breed later this year....We have an appointment for Monday...Am I jumping the gun or does it need to be done ASAP?

Don't exactly know what you mean by "dropped" but we were told by vets Sherbert should have been "fixed" no later than 5 years because his prostate was getting enlarged, too much testosterone. Once we had him done it shrunk, I am told its a trait of the breed.
