Boxer Traits

Ali is a wiggle butt!!

She also can't stand it if ALL the family members are not in the house at the same time. She waits by the window until everyone is home and then joins us in the living room - too funny...

Traits

What does the term "kidney beaning" mean? Ive read it a few times on this site.
My boxers lay on each other and rest their little heads on things.

I was just wondering if lying on their backs, chasing thier tails, and chasing flies, are all common traits of Boxers? Also what are some other common traits? Hoss and Lady have been my first set of "kids". Just curious!

"Kidney Beaning" is when they get really happy and practically fold themselves in half, wiggling the whole time! Usually they are "Beaning" on you, with spins added! I just love all the special things that make Boxers special, (even GAS) I can always tell when our Max is really ready to sleep, he leaves out a heavy sigh. He also does the nibble thing..and I really never thought of it before, but it does look like eating corn on the cob!!!

Corn cobbing, that's the perfect name!

It drives me nuts when Abbey does this though cause she always does it on my sleeve and ends up right over my wrist bone and it gives me this creepy funnybone pins and needle feeling, ::shudders:: yuck, it gives me chills just thinking about it.

crazy guy

Tiger has now started crawling. He loves to lie on his belly on the grass and drag himself along with his back legs sticking out behind him. It is very funny to watch and he seems to really love doing it. He also loves lying on his back and waving his legs in the air, stealing the kids stuffed toys from their bedrooms and then dashing under the trampoline with it while he has a good chew. Another new trick is to try and creep onto the furniture without anyone noticing - he's not very good at it, but he's got away with it a couple of times when I've been asleep on the couch and woken up with him lying on me :)

He has all the other 'normal' traits that they all seem to have. Aren't they great.

One trait that I have not seen anyone mention yet. Dozer goes absolutely crazy when the hose is on. He attacks the spray nozzle and plays tug-o-war with the hose. I have caught him bringing the hose (thank goodness it was off) thru the pet door and into the livingroom. He will even jump into the pool and dive under water to get to the hose.

As far as not being a swimmer, but a sinker.... NOT ALWAYS THE CASE!!! Dozer actually likes the pool. I had him in at a young age to "find the steps" and I think that helped with his fear. He swims around , chasing me chomping like the crocodile from PeterPan!

All other traits hold true - kidney beaning, gas (OMG), being a clown (he has been called Bobo the circus clown by family), attacking from behind and nibbling my ears and hair clip, I could go on forever!

I love this breed!
