Re: bum wagging

I dont know if it has been said yet but my dog has a mean bum wag. Might be due to a lack of tail. He would be lethal with a tail connected to that wild butt!!

I figured out that the reason they crop boxer tails is that boxers are such happy dogs that if they had long tails, they'd fly like helicopters!

I swear boxers are the comedians of the dog world! My girls Ladie (18 mo) and Dixie (1 yr on March 9) get soooo jealous of each other. That is when we get the woo-woo, god forbid we give one attention and not the other at the exact same moment. They also do the very lazy, but sneaky crawl up on to the couch...first they lay their heads on our lap, then they gradually put one foot up at a time and the next thing we know, we have a 50 lb dog on our lap. They are also the best playmate and babysitter for our skin baby who is almost two!!!

Has anyone mentioned the Elvis lip? It is absolutely hilarious when they look at you with that one lip stuck on their lower k9. Also, has anyone else ever noticed that their faces turn beat red when they are tired?

Our Doc (passed away last February) had a natural tail, and I whole heartedly agree that is why they are docked. That thing was like a whip!

Robbie Lewis

Our boxer Gunnie would follow you from room to room and loved to ride everything. If you opened the tailgate and the door of the truck, up in the front he would go. He would bark at the four-wheeler if he did not ride. He rode a jet ski very well. I was at the lake with the family one day and Gunnie and I went for a ride. Ran into another couple and I said this was my last "blind date" . They cracked up. He also like to ride in the boat.

ok, i have two beautiful boys who will be 2 in may. about the woo-woo-ing... maximus (fawn/blk mask) does it on cue when we tell him "don't argue with me!" he/we get a kick out of it! with multiple "kids" it's great watching them play and go crazy together! they are the love of my life (besides the hubby) and i have no idea what i would do without them! ok, i have a question for anyone out there... i know boxers can jump, but has anyone had them clear a 6ft fence... without a running start!? my axe (fawn/white face/paws) can clear it, so we had to build an 8ft to keep him in! he learned it from his momma. he is the one who looks like a fish out of water when he jumps up on you! axe also likes to wipe his face on the couch/carpet/chairs/bed after eating... i thought maybe he was sensitive or allergic to the food, but now i see it's normal... good to know. and i know what y'all mean about leaning! my goodness, i wake up in the morning, the hubby is on his 6 inches of bed, and i have all the covers over me, with a boy on each side, as close as they can get! i have to shimmy out of bed, because they make me look like i'm a cocoon or a mummy! they are definitely mama's boys, by far... daddy is playtime, mama is alpha. anyway, all of the traits i have read on here are SO the boys! i sit here and laugh just reading everything y'all have written! oh, by the way ladydoc, my axe has the Elvis lip! he sits there looking all regal, but that lip just cracks me up!!

LoganPetunia

Boxer Pal
Logan has always done the kidney bean, she just started the whoo hoo (i love it!), she is learning how to open the front door by herself (not good), she pretends she is the worlds fastest boxer in the backyard, doing sprints for five minutes, she has her nightly burst of energy about 9, jumps on the couch, does 50 circles and plops down sighs and passes out. She can't swim. She loves to meet new people and go on car rides. If I say, you wanna go for a ride she starts jumping in mid air and takes off to the door. She is so eager to please me, but can be very stubborn. When she hears me brushing my teeth in the morning, she gets in her crate before I tell her to, but at bed time she runs and jumps on the couch and I have to drag her to the crate (she thinks its funny, wagging her tail the whole time) My favorite thing is how much she loves me. When people come to our house, she says hello and then comes and sits next to me. When were at a friends house and she can run, she always comes by and checks on me. When she is confused she looks at me and tilts her head. I love my baby boxer!

I think this is a funny one, get a rag quick, after they get done eating, they go to your couch, and wipe their lips, sliding across the front of it, first one side of the face, then they turn around, and slide the other side of their face, across the front of your couch, Its the perfect napkin for them, all my Boxers did it, another thing they do is, the reason I called them my U dog, cause they would turn their bodies into the shape of a U when ya talk to them, and sometimes when they would be outside barking at something, you would swear you had a hound dog, not a boxer. I love the breed.
