My baby do some adoreable things. They don't nibble. My white boxer whines or makes a whining noise. When he is growling at the other dogs he sounds like he is whining. It is so weird. He whines or makes that noise whenever he is growling or just plain talking to us or the other dogs. Our little girl doesn't do that she just barks and barks and barks. She likes to bark at you until you talk/play with her then she stops. She is my funny little girl. They are just so sweet and cute. Nothing feels so good as coming home to the kidney bean dance with the tails going 80mph happy to see you. They make you feel so good. :D :) :p

My white boxer George (11 months, 80 lbs, and deaf) whines also, but only when he is being ignored or he wants what one of the other dogs has in their mouths (the most desirable toy is the one someone else has). He absolutely hates it when Gracie (flashy fawn, 4 yrs old, 65 lbs) ignores him. She is the love of his life and he can't stand it when she won't play with him or pay attention to him. Even if Porter (flashy fawn, 5 yrs old, 57 lbs) is ready to play, George wants Gracie's attention and "pouts" until she acknowleges him. When a deaf boxer whines, it can be ear shattering. Their whine is very high pitched and very loud (they can't hear it). So, it becomes the goal of every 2 legged inhabitant to pay attention to George and get him to shut up! But George is so adorable, you just want to hug him up and give him kisseys. He also is still convinced that he is my lap puppy and if anyone else tries to get in my lap, he just piggy backs on top of them so I have roughly a 1/2 ton of Boxer laying across me.

Tank my white little boy is also a lap dog. I don't have the heart to tell him he is getting too big to fit on my lap. He is 72 lbs and just lays across my lap. My boston terrier and boxer try to cuddle up on my lap until I have to move and then they just wait till I sit down again. Tank has a lower pitched whine but he gets quite loud. Greta our little girl just loves Tank and she can't be away from him for even a second. On walks if she stops to pee or sniff something and notices Tank ahead of her she runs to him and then they have to greet each other with tails a going. It is so cute. She whines if she is away from Tank. I am not sure if he is the love of her life or her surogate daddy. He was 6 months when we got Greta at 8 weeks old.

Holly and Brody

:) Aren't they wonderful! My 3yr. old Boxer (Holly) will sit in my lap whenever she can and she also sleeps with me, hogging the bed. My 1 yr. old Boxer (Brody) is about 65 or 70 lbs., he comes up to me and puts his arms around my neck to get hugs. He weighs 15 lbs. more than my 3yr. old. He sleeps in a large kennel cage as he can't be trusted to not use the carpet for his toilet. When I say "time to go to bed," he just trots off to his cage like a good boy. smashicon

My five year old, Butch, is such a winer!!! I can't hug or even sit by my boyfriend without Butch crying and trying to bet between us. Butch also has a funny habit of using our legs as a bridge. He comes up from behind us and stands underneath us, just looking up. Does anyone else have a boxer who does this? It's so funny, he even does it to other people who come over!

My six year old, Ruby, is a drooler. Drool covers my walls at the three foot line. Ruby drools when she sees food, looks out a window, gets exercise, pretty much all the time. She is so cute though, you have to excuse the stands of spit hanging down from her jowels. :)

sitting on each other

i've enjoyed reading about all these boxer traits, they really are amazing animals, aren't they? what i was wondering is does anyone have two boxers where one of them loves to sit on the other? i assume it's some sort of dominant thing, but boris just lies down while she does it, seems perfectly content. just hadn't seen that posted anywhere...thanks

I have two boxers and they like to lay down on top of each other. They sleep in the same dog house on top of each other. Mine is not a dominance thing I don't think it is. Mine just are very close and like to be near each other. In my gallery there is a picture of my babies cuddled up close. Greta the baby usually sleeps on top of tank because she just loves him and wants to be near him all the time. It is so cute.

Boxer Buddy
I only have one boxer, Sam, but if he has his choice of sitting anywhere, he will sit right on someone's foot or leg. It's like he has to be close to you! And he is definitely a 56 pound lap dog! My husband and I are used to it but some of our friends aren't ready for him when he plops down! And he doesn't like his mom's attention to be taken up by dad. He comes to "rescue" me from dad, it's so cute.

Sam also loves to sit across the back of the couch like a cat. If someone else is sitting on the couch, Sam sometimes sits himself on their shoulder like a parrot.

Another habit he has picked up is batting at us with his paw if he is not ready for us to stop rubbing him. He lets us know when we are done.

I really just don't know what we did for entertainment before Sam came into our lives!

I agree they have to be in your lap! or under your feet! Joey follows me where ever I go..(even the batroom!and wait outside the door!) if Im on the computer he wants to be in the chair with me...very hard to type with a boxer on your lap! if my husband and I are on the sofa he has to be sleeping on us!

we love him so very much! he is our little angel~lovicon
