Boxer in bed??

You mean.....there are boxers that DON'T sleep in the bed??? :eek: Bella slept in her kennel until she was fully potty trained and could hold it all night. Now, she sleeps with my 5 year old son until dh goes to work and then she gets in the bed with me. She snuggles right next to me and has to have half of my pillow.....I wouldn't want to wake up any other way!! Bella is treated no different than any member of the family!

Zoey started sleeping with me when I first brought her home at 8 weeks old. I tryed the crate thing the first few nights but she screamed and cryed all night and both of us didn't get any sleep. After 3 nights of NOT sleeping, I grabbed her and put her in my bed....the rest is history. She stopped crying and we both got a good night's sleep after that. She's been sleeping with me since and she'll be 2 in September. Now I can't sleep if she's not in bed with me. She's like my little sweetie I can hug all night and I couldn't imagine her not being with me.

I agree totally about having a dog free bed--right up until one of them wants to come on in because it's cold outside. They sleep out in the lounge on their own bed every night (fire going, nice and warm) but in the morning after they've been toilet they come and share our warmth. Since I declared my lounge couches a fur free zone, both Zak and Cinda have been in our bed every morning. I hate furry bedsheets, so it usually happens when I know I'm going to change the bed linen, but recently I have found the merits of a sticky roller designed to de-fluff clothing, etc. There are those out now especially for pet hair and they do a good job on flannelette sheeting. Both my Boxers prefer to go between the sheets with us and that gives us more room to move without being strangled by the top sheets!

I just love having my cuddle bugs next to me, whether it be on the sofa or in the bed. I just have too many of them to let them all sleep with us.

DH was away alot over the last year (He's in the Navy) and while he was gone, I let all 3 boxer babies sleep with me. They just filled the void in the bed I guess, as well as kept me warm on cold nights.

My husband is Navy too . I'm still not sure if Leila will be allowed in bed though...haha... We'll see, he just finished a deployment so we have a while before I'll have to make that decision .

I can't imagine our bed without our boxers in it...............when Hubbie kisses me goodnight, he's gotta get thru two furry heads to get to me, needless to say, they get there goodnight kisses first!! I wouldn't have it any other way.

We had NO intentions either of it being a permanent thing...but we are both such heavy sleepers that we did not think we could wake up in the middle of the night to take Sasha out in order to potty train her. From night #1 she cried hysterically and i cried right with her....That sad little face and woeful eyes just suckered me right in! She has never left our bed(she is now 2) and I also cannot sleep without her if she is not touching me in the bed. Telmar (our rescue) sneaks up on the bed now in the middle of the night....He is so sweet and sighs just like "wow...isn't this just the greatest?" They are my kids and I love it!

Yes, I agree too, I wouldn't have it anyother way. My boxergirl sleeps with me and I'm not afraid to say it. She's my big squeeze pillow and I love her unconditionally. She's part of the family, not JUST a doggie. She sleeps with me every night and I'm not sure who enjoys it more....her or I??

Not yet.....

BF and I differ on this, but I don't want Laila to sleep in the bed. My cats do, which is the only time they spend with us since we got Laila. I feel like if I let Laila on the bed that my kitties would feel left out, they won't come near her!

Before BF moved in was just me and the kitties for 7 years. If we let Laila on the bed (and he wants to) we would need to get a king just so we'd have enough real-estate for everyone. We have a queen now and it's already crowded!

I do let her take weekend afternoon naps with me on the bed, though.. She loves it! I just don't trust her to run the house yet, so she's in the crate at night and while we work.

I love having Layla in bed with me. Even if it means that I don't always have the most comfortable positions or enough blankets. In my opinion there is nothing better than waking up and cuddling and kissing this soft warm lovable baby. It just fills my heart...

We actually don't let our two sleep on our bed all night, because they take up way too much room and I can't get a good nights sleep on the edge of the bed. But in the morning they usually come up for a snuggle and to nap until we get up.

Or like last night I think we had the AC on too high and they were cold on their own beds so both of them snuck up on our bed at about 3 a.m. and I didn't have the heart not to let them.

Our male especially is just a great snuggler our female tends to stay at the foot of the bed but Finnegan loves to come up and rest his head on the pillow and snuggle up real close
