Well, I just talked to the vet again, and we hopefully have an appointment at the Vet Medicine COllege next Wednesday. They will have to do more tests. If it is an extrahepatic shunt (out of the liver) surgery is very successful; however, if it is intrahepatic (in the liver), the prognosis is much more grim. He is now on lactulose to help bring down his ammonia level. Because he is on the RAW diet, my vet is going to call me in the morning with some lower protein recipes as ammonia is derived from protein. I am terrified!!!

Depending what they tell us on Wednesday, I could be up there for a week. I hope that I am up there for the week, as that means the prognosis is favorable. Please keep the vibes and wiggles coming, we need it!!

Well we have an appointment Wednesday at 1030. Sounds like we will be up there for a couple days no mater what they find. I will keep you all updated. I am not sure if I want the day to come quickly or not...
