bad news!

Well, our vet just called us, and gave us some bad news. Cassius' seizures were caused by a portosystemic shunt. The only cure is surgery. She is calling us back after she talks to the vetarinarian college to let us know an approximate price. I suppose it doesn't really matter what the price is, but with me on maternity leave and in the midst of renovations, money is going to be really tight!

I am really scared for him! We will have to travel 2.5 hours from our home and then stay there for up to 1 week. He is such a good dog, I hate that he is going through this! Please pray for Cassius. We need all the boxer vibes we can get!!

Healing vibes going out to Cassius.

After reading the link ChristyA posted (thanks!), it looks like there is every reason to be optimistic. I'm assuming the reason you need to stay for a week is so you can see him during the recovery time. I wish there was something like a Ronald McDonald house for pet owners. Maybe a BW member can recommend somewhere in the area that's reasonably priced.
