Just got done looking at the pics of Catfish, what a sweet boy! We hope he heals quickly! For some reason I can't post a reply in the gallery, maybe because I'm too new to the site??? Anyway, best of luck to you and your sweet boy!!!! many "woo woo" songs and licky's to you Catfish from Scooby girl. :)

Catfish continues to get stronger each day, and yesterday he played for the first time!! I bounced his tennis ball on the ground for him and he hops up to catch it in air....it just made my day! Still no word on the biopsy results, so I'll keep hanging in there. I'm really nervous becuase what was one small bump under his skin has now grown to about 7 or 8. The original one started out the size of a bebe, and now is about the size of an almond. The others are random over his body and are growing from that same bebe size faster than I care to think about. Has anyone had anything like this with their boxers? They move around a lot under the skin and I can tell they aren't connected to the muscle underneath. I really want to get the chemo started ASAP as I can't help but be nervous. As long as he's happy and getting stronger, though, I'm also happy.

Oh, and I forgot to comment about his name per a post last week. It was actually a nickname I had for Catty's dad. When they roll on their backs and their "lips" flip up, it looks like the wide mouth of a Catfish. ;0)

So glad to hear that Catfish is playing - that is always a positive thing - and that he is feeling better. The waiting for results is so hard - sending lots of hopeful vibes your way, that you'll get them soon, and that they will bring you (and the rest of us ;) ) good news. Healing thoughts flying nonstop to Catfish.......hang in there, Sweet Boy!

So glad to hear Catfish is doing better. We use to call Rocky Catfish Lips when he would lay his head on the sofa arm and spread out his lips....healing vibes and stay strong!

I am so sorry to hear about your baby. I know how traumatic an amputation can be. My Lucy was run over by a dump truck last summer. After 2 hip pinnings and a bone graft, we lost her right back leg. As it turns out, that back leg was slowing her down! We swear her boxer burns are twice as fast as they used to be. She healed completely and we can't even tell that she misses the leg! Dogs are a lot more resilient than I think we give them credit for. Just keep loving her and she'll do fine!

I don't come on the boards often so I just came across this post. How's Catfish's recovery coming along?

Our boy, Milo, just had his right hind leg amputated today...so I'd be curious to hear your stories.

Catfish had his first round of chemo yesterday (Carboplatin), so I'm working from home today to keep an eye on him. He seems to be doing well, just a bit more tired than he has been the last couple of days. We did take him on a short walk during lunch and he was very much into that! I just pray that the chemo will work to keep him feeling good as his diagnosis was pretty grim. They said he has a really odd, anti-textbook case of osteosarcoma so it's going to be hard to predict what may/may not work for him. So, I'm just doing everything I can.

As far as his amputation, he's getting along very well on three legs. This is only week 3, so I can't expect too much. Once we got past the first week, he got significantly stronger and started acting more like himself. It's TOUGH, so just be prepared for that part. You'll be amazed at how quickly they snap back, though. :0) I'll keep your pup in my prayers as well for a speedy recovery!

I've been away and didn't catch the start of this thread. Catfish's story warms my heart. He's such a sweet looking dog with a mom who obviously loves him endlessly! I pray that he will continue to gain strength and that the chemo will be effective in making him healthy and cancer free.
