At 12 months they have pretty much finished growing upwards, however they generally won't finish filling out until they're about 2 or even 3 years old.

We do get snow down here, but only in 3 out of the 7 states & only on the higher mountain ranges. Summer began here at the start of December. Generally the hottest months are January & February, with the coldest being June & July.
