YIPPEEEEEE

After more than 12 months, I can finally get my ring back on my finger!

January last year I was playing netball (like basketball) when I torn the ligament off 2 of my fingers taking the bone with it.

My middle finger healed reasonably well (still only slightly swollen), but my ring finger ballooned & the knuckle was stuck at a 90 degree angle with only 10% movement.

I have been doing hand therapy & my movement has increased to about 75% & the knuckle size has gone down too!

It still looks a bit deformed, but I am so happy I can fit my ring back on my finger appicon appicon

GREAT TO HERE I HOPE YOUR FINGER CONTINUES TO GET BETTER.

I WEAR ALOT OF JEWELLERY (SPELLING) MY FRIENDS CALL ME MRS T, I HATE NOT WEARING ANY SO I CAN APPR. HOW YOU MUST BE FEELING ABOUT BEING ABLE TO PUT YOUR RINGS BACK ON.

BUT I HAVE TO SAY YOU WILL PLAY NETBALL smashicon I WAS ALWAYS INTO HOCKEY AND AS A KID IT SEEMED THAT HOCKEY AND NETBALLERS DIDN'T LIKE EACH OTHERS SPORT :p

That is great Sam appicon appicon appicon

Netball  I've always thought it was one of the most dangerous sports! It's right up there with Touch Football :D

That's good news! I know my wife likes to see my ring on my finger. I lost mine in my back yard eight years ago. After six months, I found it with a metal detector. I haven't lost it since.

Thanks for bringing that up...... smashicon
I lost my wedding ring under our house 6 years ago when I was laying some electrical cables. :(
Sam was not impressed at the time & I'm quite sure the topic coming up again now will mean the old cold shoulder treatment for me when I get home tonight.

am I the only person who doesn't know what netball is

No I suspect alot of people don't know what netball is, although it is the most popular womens sport in Australia & New Zealand. It is also well represented in England, South Africa & Canada.

As I said before it is kinda similar to basketball.

I play indoor netball at the moment which is slightly different again!

As for you Matt .... mmmm yes losing a ring is different to not being able to wear a ring  , but I do forgive you, after all who bought your replacement ring?

BTW Sharon, netball is dangerous, that's why I love it, you never quite know when you're gonna need that knee reco!

I did think about Netball after a horrid experience with mixed Touch (black eye in a social game!), but then dediced it would be safer to take up juggling live brown snakes smashicon

Have you had any other injuries?

Have you had any other injuries?

Not really, just a torn cartlidge in my knee, a few broken fingers, sprained ankle (both), torn calf muscle, black toes & of course the torn ligament off the bone.

Which is pretty good considering most of my teams mates over the years have had black eyes, broken noses, knee reconstructions, broken ankles, one even had an allergy to the ball & her hands swelled up.

Come to think of it, those live snakes are sounding more & more appealing ;)
