We originally wanted to name our little girl Molly, but that's the name of one of our neighbors--didn't think that would go over too well!!

We originally (until the morning she was coming home) were going to name Bradlee, Bella, but the neighbors dog was named Bella... and the next two names on the list were Bradley and Vera- Anyone knows the bags :)? So we went with BradleE to make it more feminine... apparently adding the E does not make it more feminine we have just learned to emphasize SHE, MISS, OUR LITTLE GIRL etc...

We named Dozer because he slept alot so he was A "Dozer" but when he was awake he would run over you like a Bull"Dozer". Diesel was named because he gets Dozer all wound up so we thought it was funny that Bull Dozers run on Diesel fuel. So "Diesel" is the fuel to get our Bull"Dozer" going!
I love that! Before reading this, I often wondered if you did name Diesel that on purpose. They are both so cute and I love the name theme.

Tossie's name was actually Tosiona, which was the name of an actress on a show that I watched when she was born and I liked the name which got shortened to Tossie. Her full name was Tosiona Tia Maria

Brady's and Abbie's name just came to me. I don't like to dwell on the names, just the pups. :)

"Coach" is my favorite boxer name of all time, rescue. "Ernie" was my boxer from my 2 - 15 yrs. (that one was easy :) ) Ghost was a white rescue.

Current dogs, Beach is the last name of my best friend and the s/o named Harley. He may have his name changed one day. I have also looked to craters on the moon for names.

Emma got her name because I am a Jane Austen freak. The best part is that when she was about four months old, she chewed up a book I was reading - of course, it was a biography of Jane Austen. I'll keep that poor battered book always for that reason.

I didn't name Orlando - the humane society named him that, and they named his siblings - you guessed it! - Tony and Dawn (gag). (For you young folks out there, Tony Orlando and Dawn was a popular singing group, say, when your parents were teenagers and were known for the song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon." If you don't know that hideous song, I can be of no further assistance.) It's kind of grown on me now, and I've been thinking of getting him a yellow collar as a joke. :)

better than the original

We got Beau from the SPCA and his name was (get this) "JOE BOXER" as in the underwear! The bad thing was he knew the name Joe, so we had to change it to something close to Joe. Hence, Beau. Which I like a lot so I'm okay with it. He looks like a Beau.

Penni - After the story Pennies From Heaven- If you find a penny pick it up - doesn't matter if it's heads or tails, it means someone in heaven (your Guardian Angel) is thinking of you and sending you love and holding you. My dad passed away when I was 13 so after I heard this story anytime I see a penny I pick it up. It is amazing how I always find them when I am having not a bad day but the worst day. It tells me he is watching and everything will be ok! May be silly but even in my middle-age I say... I BELIEVE IN ANGELS - My baby is also an angel so Penni it was!

Cairo

Once I picked out the puppy, the first name I picked for him I didn't think suited him. I was one who had the name before the puppy. ;) I then thought, ooh you look like a 'Chino' but then I heard the breeder call one of the other pups 'Chino,' I hadn't told her yet what I was going to name him, but she told me that his brother was picked by someone else and they named him 'Chino.' I then looked at him and said you are not going to have the same name as your brother, so you are now 'Cairo' :)

I made a list of boys' and girls' names before i went to see the Zoey's litter. At the top pof my list was Kia, and right below in 2nd place was 'Zoey'. When I got the the breeders house, the daughter put all of the sold pups away, and There were about 5 left. Quite a few flashy puppies, and a couple of classic fawns. 2 Came up to me, a fawn and a flashy, but the only one that wanted up into my arms was the fawn one. I picked her up, and she nibbled my nose and licked my face and climbed all over me.
"It looks like Zoey likes you" said the breeder... WELL! That made it official.. I HAD to use the name Zoey.. it was fate :)

Edgar (Alan Poe) - My daugther named our guy Edgar because he had the cutest little egg shaped knot on his head as a puppy and he looked like Edgar the Egghead. People always look at me funny when I say it is Edgar, but when they meet him, they no the name fits.

The night we got our girls, one of them got a little testy with the other, growling and biting, so I said jokingly, "lets name this one Cuddles!" Well, it stuck, then we had to name the other. For some reason I was thinking about The Sopranos, and thought hmmm. Two wiseguys, how about Cuddles and Toots! And we pronouce that tutz, like a sailor would say to a good looking lady, not like the sound that boxer gas makes!
