Why'd you name your boxer that?

Wookie got her name from the Star Wars character Chewbacca; my husband is a huge fan. We agreed I could get her and he could name her. I also joke that since he named the fur baby- I get to name the human ones. In retrospect, it is a very fitting name. The woo-woo sounds a lot like one of the noises that Chewbacca makes and her yawn sounds like the other noise of the character. Her unique name fits her unique personality and for the Star Wars familar readers- we always 'let the Wookie win".

Reis

Reis (pronounced Raze) was already named when we got him here in turkey. It means "leader" in turkish. we are planning to get another one soon. Either a fawn or white. Reis is Brindle. Anybody with anysuggestions?

ROMMEL'S MOM

Boxer Buddy
Rommel was named for his heritage. Since, I'm half German and Boxers originated in Germany, I wanted to pay a tribute.
Lots of people think I named him after Rommel, "the desert fox", one of Hitler's soldiers. That's not the case at all.

I pondered all kinds of German twists. Like Beamer, for the German BMW. Or Blitz, which is german for flash. Or weis for white.

I think it means a lot when you put a little creativity into naming your furbaby. They're members of the family too and you wouldn't pick just any name for your skin baby, would you? LOL

Kirra is aboriginal for "dark lady", it so suits her to a t already. She sits just like a little lady waiting all the time (when she's not sleeping or playing that is), and of course she is a dark brindle.

My Dakota meant "friend" (native american) - my dh picked out her name and she lived up to her name and then some. She will be my forever friend.

We named our boxergirl "Jinx" because she was living a jinxed life before she joined our family. (She was a rescue) Now the name suits her bubbly personality...sort of a cross between Joker and Minx! That's my girl!

We named "Pokey" after Pokey Reese that plays for the Boston Red Sox!! Should have known that after we got Pokey in September, it was a sign Boston would win the World Series!

When my Nikko died it was Dec2nd and I was not doing well at all due to his loss.. So we started to drive around Missouri where we live and we were contacting people in the St.Louis Dispatch on boxers that were for sale... everywhere we went we had a problem.. either it was a dog mill ( never buy from them) or they didnt have a clean house or the dog didnt look like a boxer when we got thier after the phone calls and then we found our Miles.. In Mt.Sterlilng Missouri on a farm with a family who hand raised their pups and have them as pets.. My love.. Well after we drove around so much.. he got the name Miles.. ( I put alot of miles on my car looking for the right pup... I love that name for him and it is always a story to be told.. check his pics out if you can..bye. Ps. She gave us the best xmas present ever.. our pup and she even gave us a great deal on him.. due to what happened to my Nikko and the cardiomamamothy ( I know I spelled that wrong.. that killed him and took him from us..
