Why you named your Boxers what you did?

Some names are just right!!!

My husband and I are working with Second Chance Boxer Rescue now to (hopefully) adopt soon. The name that we've picked, assuming we'll get a young dog (fingers crossed) is Cashew....we're not really sure why...or even where it came from...it just sounds good!!!

Maggie & Lauren

Maggie's name was chosen the same way our daughter's name was chosen. I all of the names out of the book, while husband said no...no....hell, no...no way...tha's stupid....etc. I think Maggie and Lauren were the only two female names he liked...had the baby come second her name may have been Maggie...ya just never know! I'm really thinking Lauren is a beautiful name for a boxer!

I just looked up our puppies name. Niko means "Victory" in Greek

We traveled world wide and love the islands so we thaught it would be a good idear to name her Bali . We are wanting to get another one and have already picked out the name Fiji.

We wanted to name our female with something meaning "life" as we sadly lost our first boxer at only 9 weeks old.So, we named her "Kaija" which means "life" in hebrew.

I named Frankie after "The Great" Frank Sinatra..I LOVE Frank Sinatra...and I love my Frankie....:D

Nikki - Originally wanted to name her Nikira, but we read somewhere that dogs respond better to two-syllable names, so we gave her a shorter version.

Logan - That's Wolverine's name in the movie X-Men.

My son named my boxer Ekim, ( my son and husband are named Mike and Ekim is Mike spelled backwards). Ekim was to be my sons dog but I fell in love with him. He is my constant companion, and he has brought such joy to my life. I thank God everyday for my little boy.

Loved reading all the responses, especially the folks who's Boxer is named jack, and when they yell, Jack, off !... ... When I first picked up my pup, and looked him in the eyes, without thinking about it, I said, "Boris". I've had several dogs , that have seemed to named themselves like that. I'm a big fan of horror movies, classic, and not so classic, so his akc registered name is Sir Boris Karloff Bounds... He is the most unique dog i've ever had. so much personality, i swear he can understand english. he just doesn't always choose to listen, .

well i wanted to name mine Mercy.. short for Mercedes.. just because the name Mercy sounds nice... but she ended up being a Cinnamon because her daddy decided that was a nice name.. and since i got to pick her.. he got to name her.
