okay well let me appologize for not being on here in a while, i am working 13-14 hour days and attending to a puppy inbetween which leaves me little time for the wife that im about to leave for 6-8 months which leaves even less time for the computer. so with that said here is the question, i live in north carolina due to my job but there are much better places i can think of that i would wnat to live not that n.c. is bad just not where i would live if i had my choice, if you had a choice to live anywhere where would it be, i think mine would either be las vegas nv or key west fl, probably key west because its so laid back there, how about you?

I will tell you the places I lived before that I liked but that I saw drawbacks to.

1. The big Island of Hawaii (hard to live on island long term).
2. Aptos, Ca...near Santa Cruz (very expensive).
3. Portland, Maine (long, bad, winters).
4. Southwest Durham, NC- live there now (do not like hurricanes, and crazy ice and winter storms that cause panic and loss of electricity for many, many days!).

Have thought I would like to live in Virginia or someplace near the coast between NC and Maine.

South of here has too hot, humid summers for me.
New Mexico or Arizona is too dry for me.
Would like to be closer to the ocean.

Have not found the "Perfect" place....is there a perfect place?

Texas has it all, except state income tax.

Texas has plains, desserts, beaches, cities, forrests, lakes, a few mountains, and lots of jobs.

Colorado was nice for skiing every weekend.

Cost of living was dirt cheap in New Mexico, but there was nothing to do where I was in the middle of nowhere.(Clovis)

Currently, I live in Arizona and I would say it's the best place to live except for the scorpions. We are moving to Albuquerque right after Christmas and that seems like a nice place, but I've only visited so far.;) For me the ideal place would be a house on the beach in Southern CA but oh wait.....those darn earthquakes would scare the bageebers out of me. Hummmmm, the perfect place....I'll let ya know when I've found it!

Brrrrr

Well Canada is okay some of the time. I don't think I was meant to be born here though as I hate the cold! At least I don't live in Quebec where the weather is extreme. Floods in the spring and horrible low temps in the winter, much worse than Ontario.

I'd live anywhere that was warm year round. A nice tropical zone area would do me just fine!

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

The mountains are beautiful, good skiing, hiking, wildlife, horses, etc. That's where I dream about moving, truth is though, I really like the midwest and will probably stay in Iowa forever.
