What vacuum do you use?

Well, after the majority of BW members recommended the Dyson D17 Animal I went out and bought it! I have a couple of friends who have this too and they loved it, one of them also has two boxers and she said it is just amazing, but I wanted other opinions and I thank all of you for the recommendations. I came home, took it out and put it together and vacuumed a couple of rooms. I WAS IN SHOCK! I didn't realize how bad my other vacuum was until I used the Dyson. I picked up so much hair and dirt, it just totally grossed me out! My carpet sure didn't look that dirty and I vacuum at least 2 to 3 times a week. Boy howdy what a HUGE difference!! Sears had them on sale too! I looked all over the internet and couldn't get one for $467 unless it was on Ebay, and those don't come with a warranty. Sears has a 5 year warranty and if anything goes wrong I take it back to them and they send it in or whatever needs to be done. I don't have to mess with it. I can't wait to vacuum tomorrow!!!

I got the new Dirt Devil and love it. It works like a Dyson, but the price is about $200 cheaper. It works great! I had a Bissell, but I'm really tough on them and it broke into pieces.

I have a Hoover Fusion which was advertised as having the same power as a Dyson. It is cyclonic suction like a dyson too. I bought it at Walmart over a year ago for $128. It seems to work well, the only complaint I have about it, it is top heavy and falls over easily. Not a big deal unless you are on the floor using the attachements and it falls over and cracks you in the head. It is pretty light so easy to do the stairs and whatnot.

Now that we have a bigger house, I am thinking of buying another vacuum to leave upstairs. My friend got I believe a Bissel pet vaccum and she said it works great. I don't know, I always read a ton of reviews before buying something new.

I would like to get a Dyson but they are a bit expensive, maybe someday.

I have an Oreck but want a Dyson really bad. I think that I just got the push to go ahead and get it. I also have tile except in the bedrooms. Does everyone use it on the tile also? I use mine on the tile sometimes but Ramsey hates it so it is a fight every time it is all a big game to him. Is the Dyson very loud on the tile???

It comes with a floor attachment that you hook up, or you can just vacuum across the floor too. I haven't tried it yet. It is quieter than my other, but I don't have any others to compare it to noise wise. It doesn't seem that loud to me, but I'm hearing impaired too. I called my mom last night to tell her I got one because I thought she might be in the market for a good pet vacuum (she has 3 shelties). She said "oh, I bought one two weeks ago and I love it!"

I've been seriously considering this one, the Dyson DC17 Animal Vacuum.

I've got that one, it's fantastic. The turbo tool is brilliant at sucking up dog hair.

I felt the same way. Have you vacuumed your couch yet? That was the big shocker for me. I had JUST used my old vacuum on the couch and then used the dyson. I about died. You expect the floor to be dirty but the couch? Now I vacuum the couch every couple of days.

we have got a dyson animal also with the attachments and it just works well,we still have our lab and he sheds terribly bad and it works like a pro not to mention all the messes the grandkids make,besides the price was right(free)so cant complain to much

Our Dyson doesn't leave the living room except when we have company or we are doing other rooms. We love it!!!!
