Keeping Jake in our prayers, and continuing sending positives vibes. It sounds like you are in the best place for him and I'm sure they will have this figured out soon.
Looking forward to a good update.

Many, many prayers and many, many healing vibes go out to you and your dear baby, Jake. It must be a great comfort to you to know that he is in a very good place, with lots of loving care. We all can empathize with you and how very much you miss him - you are a good mom - Jake's health and comfort come before anything else. Hang in there. We are all so hoping Jake will pull out of this.

Jake is home!

Jake has been released from UC Davis and has been diagnosed with auto-immune polyarthritis. The vet explained that this disease is similar to the disease Lupus in humans. What's happening is that Jake's immune system is "confused" and is attacking the good cells within his muscles and tissues. As his body's defense, his tissues are becoming extremely inflamed to ward of the attack. This inflammation is extremely painful but he is now on pain medication and we started the steroid treatment yesterday. Within 12 hours, we had a very happy boy. Not quite a bouncing boxer, but able to stand and walk on his own. He even brought me his squeaky piggy toy and nudged it into my leg. My heart was bursting with happiness. It will be a long road to recovery and we will have to return to UC Davis for further joint taps and blood work in three weeks.

Again, so many thanks to all of you out there that kept Jake in your thoughts and prayers.

Sloppy wet kisses from Jake and a heartfelt thank you from his happy owners!

What a precious sight this must have been, just knowing your baby is making small steps to recovery.

So glad to hear that Jake is back home and feeling better, and in the coming days, will be better and better. It must be a relief to know that his problem has been diagnosed and that it can be treated and hopefully controlled so that he will have a good life. It sounds like he has been and will continue to be under excellent care at UC Davis. We continue to keep Jake and your family in our thoughts and prayers, and Grunt sends healing boxer vibes. Please keep us posted.
