I don't know how I missed this thread, but Josi and I are sending Champ lots of get well <<vibes>> his way. It sounds like you had a positive visit with the doctor today and lets hope for some more good news:) I am sure Champ appreciates all those great goodies your are cooking up for him and probably wouldn't mind if you kept that up forever. Anyhow...keep us posted and try to get some sleep, I know how the worried mind wonders at night.

It's so good to hear that Champ is getting specialized vet attention - hopefully the scope will shed more light on his condition. Even better to hear that he is having a good day today :) Please give that Love Bundle big hugs from Grunt and me...and keep us posted, please. I keep you all in my prayers.

Glad Champ is feeling better. It’s a relief to hear they are leaning against cancer! Is he staying the night at the vets?

We're sending healing (((((((((((((((vibes))))))))))))))) for a speedy recovery!

Another Update

Well Champ is feeling and breathing better because of all of the medicine he is on but he didn't get the best of news from the specialist. It is deff. not cancer, not a fungle infection, not a bacterial infection....... but heart failure. Apparently he has a genetic heart disease/condition that when he had heart worms 2 years ago when we rescued him that just made his heart worse. And it has gotten worse little by little over the corse of time we have had him. We just never really noticed it until the coughing and heaving started. The vet said his heart valves were twice the size they should be and was making the lining of his heart too thin so his heart is beating slower than it should but working harder to try and keep everything going. They gave us 6-8 months. :( He did say that he could just by shear luck do wonderfully on all of this medicine and get several more years but realistically he has max of a year. We are just trying to stay positive and stay happy around him and hope some of that enegry rubs off on him. As long as he is still eating and doesn't loose his appetite that is a good thing. We will just take it one step at a time. Thanks again for all the nice comments.
