So, it's only a bit after 7pm and there has been no trick-or-treaters at my door for the last 40min!! In all, so far, maybe 15-20 kids have showed up! Some that did brave the wind and drizzle (but pleasantly mild) would not come to my door! Parents stood on the sidewalk and instructed their little goblins.."oh no sweetie...don't go to that door...we don't like pitbulls"!! (Xena was perched like a statue at the front door watching all the action...Spirit was crated! Seems he and the pumpkin had an ongoing personnal problem that couldn't be resolved! From what I could make of the whole thing...the pumpkin was really pi$$ing Spirit off!! :p )
Anyway...was just wondering how you all did for trick-or-treaters this year?? I thought maybe Halloween was cancelled and only a few of us were aware...me and the 15-20 kids out there that I saw? Oh well...Mamma scored big on the candy this year!! YAAAY!! More Rockets for me!! :D

You know, my family and I just moved to a condo community with a good amt of kids so I thought there'd be alot of trick or treaters...I think we got like 10 total. It's such a disappointment, cause here(20 mins west of Phila, PA) it's gorgeous out. It's about 68 degrees w/ a slight breeze. Oh well, maybe next year. =/

People in my neighborhood decided to trick-or-treat Saturday and today. We've had a good number of kids tonight. Many have given very nice compliments to Lexi and Titus :)

"I thought maybe Halloween was cancelled and only a few of us were aware...me and the 15-20 kids out there that I saw?"

I meant to say "unaware"! :o

Maniago...I really thought our city was going to adopt that same new tradition this year. There was a poll taken in our local paper asking what the public thought of switching the day to Saturday because of the "timing", and it's interference with a religious event. The poll showed that most were in favor...maybe next time! :)

This is only our second halloween at our house, and we thought last year's TWO kids were because of the big snowstorm we had... however, it is 6:30 now and dark out and we haven't had a single kid! So disappointing. I loved my small town days and we'd get 250 trick or treaters!!!

That's so weird to me, switching trick or treating days! Halloween is Halloween how can people just change the day?!

No trick or treaters here in Hong KOng. But I wore my pumpkin socks anyway.

This year we got about 60 kids, which is down from last year when we had about 95 or so. Most of the kids here came between 7 & 9 which is weird as I thought they would have been here earlier due to it being a Sunday and tomorrow back to school.

Where's the Trick or Treat?

Hubby asked a very good question.. what happened to saying "Trick or Treat?" when you come to someones door? Out of the 34 kids we got at our door (I am dissapointed, first year at my own house and I bought over 250 chocolate bars, sour patch kids and popeye sticks and only 34 kidsat my door!! what a sham!) only 2 said trick or treat.. it was so sad. Our house was the coolest on the block, we had a strobe light, a black light, hubby standing in a cloak wearing black light paint on his face, and our 2 incredible jack-o-lanterns (a Diablo figure, and mine was a very intricate Dragon) we had Tyson and Sable blocked off from the front hall so they wouldnt lick all the face paint off the kiddies ;)

The costumes are really disappointing this year too we had a guy show up dressed in a stuffed bra, trench coat and fedora, a young girl in PJ's, and a kid wearing baggy jeans, a sweatshirt and a baseball hat, most didnt look like they even bothered to dress up it was easier for them to grab a pillowcase and walk out the door.. they all knew that the homeowners where more excited about Hallowe'en than them, so they apparently only went out for "our benefit". I have way too many chocolate bars and sour gummies (I really dont need them either!) so we gave some to the kids nextdoor and hubby will more than likely take some in for lunches at work.

What a sad year :(

oh well better luck next year...
