Was Halloween Cancelled...??

No kids...none at all. We didn't get any last year either. They all like to trick or treat where the houses are closer together so they get more candy. Heck, my kids don't even trick or treat here! It's so sad though becasue all of the neighbors have their lights on and their decorations up all in hopes of one little ghost to come by..how sad. When we lived in AZ, we would get a ton of kids. If they didn't say trick or treat, I wouldn't give them candy until they did. Just a little pet peeve of mine too!

We didn't get many kids here either, maybe 20, I think we get less every year.

We only had adout 60 kids come out this year. That is down from past years. Several people said Chopper was a good looking dog and one kid asked if she was real because she was sittting so still watching all the action.

I've also noticed there is a steady drop in the number of kids every year. They are pretty much done by 7 or 7:30. We used to get a lot of children when my own kids were little, now we get maybe only 30 or 40. I just think Halloween is getting less and less popular for the kids now. There were also a lot of church festivals which might have kept some away. Of course, I am always worried we won't have enough candy so I buy too much, but I'm learning. Now, I only buy the kind that we like. But I always get something for Scrapper to wear - this year he had big red devil horns and Holly got a fancy little collar that made her look like a ballerina dancer, but she hated it and tried to shake it off. What a bummer :(

We didn't have any kids either-the fur kids were so depressed :( They were all lined up at the front door, just watching. It was like this last year.We live on a very busy street,with houses and apartmentsSome of the local schools have halloween parties for the safety for the kids,which I think is a good idea,but it still would be nice to see all the little "ghosts and goblins" So,we loaded up all 4 of the babies(not an easy task :eek ,headed to my sisters' house, went with my niece and nephew, and volunteered grandpa to help with leash duty

I think that eventually Halloween will be no more! The fact that even the kiddies don't put any effort into the costumes...no "trick-or-treat" cries, more and more houses closing the door for the night, etc. A BIG peeve of mine this year was the fact that almost every store I walked into last week searching for last minute Halloween supplies had NOTHING!! Instead, there was Christmas everywhere!!! Give me a break! The holidays are too commercialized! Makes me angry! :mad:

Well I dont feel so bad now....we didnt have any kids either!! and we bought alot of candy and no kids.

I was actually really suprised this year, we ran out of candy! Last year we had almost no kids so I only bought 2 bags and it was gone literally within 10 minutes! Oh Well, we closed up shop, and walked Giddy around the neighborood for the rest of the night and he loved it!

Our friend who lives up the streets house was incredibly popular...he knows
EVERYONE in the neighborhood and he had the Steelers game on a giant projector outside and had a keg of beer for all the adults....when the kiddies would say trick or treat the adults would get a beer, most of the adults ended up saying "Go to the houses around here while I watch the game" LOL

A vent...we had these 2 girls come to our house while we were handing out candy, probably about 15 years old. I'm guessing that they were supposed to be strippers or prostitutes though I didn't bother asking. They are walking around saying "We should call up that wh*re and f*cking kick her ass"..."I hate that sl*t, I wanna put my shoe up her f*cking C word"...Sorry to be so graphic but these girls are walking around saying these things as loud as possible (to seem cool, I guess) while theres little ones trick or treating! Pick one...either act like a child and go trick or treating or stay home with your trash mouth. UGH! I wish now that I would have said something to them!

Ok as long as there are Mommies out there like us....Halloween will never die !!!!

There I sat at my new home....decorated to the tilt...lit pumpkins and all....and not one child....my goodness I do not live that far out of the city.....so we dressed up the dogs....as well as mommy daddy and 2 skin kids and we did turns going to the door to get treats....for the dogs....mommies homeade halloween doggie treats....who cares what the neighbours think !!!

We did ok, but didn't get anywhere near the amount of kids I expected for a Sunday.
