That sounds like 2 drastically different approaches to treating heartworm. The first sounds like he was proposing treating the worms and heartworm treatment after they have the disease IS very expensive.
The other approach sounds like he was just using the regular monthly preventative medication to treat heartworms which is not the way to go and can be dangerous to give if they actually have a "developed" case of heartworm. Hmmmmmm
I would go with the first in this "mystery case" with Toby.
